WD 12.5mm 2.5" drives in QNAP NAS?

Anyone know if the new WD drives with the 12.5mm form factor will fit in the QNAP SS 839 disk caddies?

Even if they fit, I would wait to see if QNAP approves them. At the very least wait until a few other guinea pigs try and validate them from a users perspective before you entrust your data to untested drives.

I saw a discussion in the QNAP forums talking about the openings being 14mm. That leaves 1.5mm of space if trying to fit a 12.5mm drive. Airflow may be an issue.

QNAP finally completed their testing and said that 12.5mm 2.5" drives will fit in their SS series NASes.
