I posses a WD my book world network drive, it has worked ok for 3 years then suddenly stopped working.I think the network interface component has failed,so i removed the drive from the casing and plugged it into a sata drive enclosure. Plugged it into my pc via usb, although i was able to see the drive in disk managment i was unable to access the data or even see the drive in My computer.Any ideas how i can access and recover the data. Thanks

NAS devices are generally little computers running Linux, and they generally use a Linux filesystem. Windows on The other hand is very restricted in what filesystems it supports, so no files.

Try downloading a live Linux cd like knoppix, and see if it will show the files.
