Weird PC & Xbox Lan Issues

RiZZo0

New Around Here
Hey guys I'm having some weird Xbox Lan Issues and I'm totally stumped!

If I have my Xbox plugged into the router by itself there are no issues whatsoever and I am lag free. However, as soon as I have my computer plugged into the router..even if its not downloading anything or doesn't even have a browser open..My Xbox will lag like crazy online.

As soon as I disconnect my computer from the router while playing a match online, the lag disappears and I'm lag free again. So basically until i can figure this out, I have to physically have my computers ethernet cord disconnected from the router in order to play online which is ridiculous.

I have tried updating the nic driver on my pc..switched lan ports for the pc and xbox. Even tried just the xbox directly to my modem and other crap just to rule stuff out. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Time for a malware scan. Also make sure you have no P2P client running on the PC.

Do you have jumbo frames enabled on your PC's NIC? In my personal experience, trying to go jumbo frames, even with a network that wholly supported it, was terrible for my network. Worth checking, as the Xbox would not have jumbo frames support.

Well guys this is crazy but I guess I found the issue...ughhh feel so lame but here goes...

I had logmein running in my system tray and every time I game online with my xbox..I ALWAYS have my pc on. So today I figured you know what?...let me shut that program off and BOOM no lag when both devices are on! The thing that strikes me as odd is that on my old pc, hooked up to my old shirtty linksys g router, logmein was always running in the background and I would go online with my xbox and pc just fine.

I don't know if they updated that app to take more bandwidth in the background...but man just turning that off prevented me from throwing this router out the window. I'll update you guys if anything changes..but thank you for your help!

Give Teamviewer a try, it's free, I've used both that and Logmein and stuck with Teamviewer. Might like it better AND solve your problem. :-)
