Skynet What are some good current block lists? - Skynet

I've found a couple of false positives on @Jack-Sparr0w 's list, so I have to rollback to default blacklist. I liked it but for my use it's a bit too aggressive right now.
I would like to try other alternatives. Any other list recommended similar to Jack's to give a try? Thanks!
Give a try to @SomeWhereOverTheRainBow's list (see my post just above your)

I wasn't going to say anything as everyone else seemed so happy - I went back to jumpssm's github list after one hour as a lot of false positives showed up for me too, including quite a few Ookla speedtest servers and one of my own personal servers (I've had it years and it's IP isn't shared so I don't understand that one)

Just to be sure to understand correctly, you tested Jack-Sparr0w's list and went back to Steven Black's list.
Correct?

Great, thanks.
Can you share with me the list or the site to look for, I would like to test/compare with SomeWhereOverTheRainBow's list I am currently testing.
I didn't note which Ookla servers, and unfortunately I'm not willing to release the ip of my server.
I didn't care at the time - I'd had enough.

Sorry, I realized with your reply that I was too vague/not specific in my topic asked.
Can you please guide me to know more about Steven Black's list (SNB Forums.com thread, Website,...). As I said, I would like give a try to compare and test with SomeWhereOverTheRainBow's list I am currently testing.
I didn't want to know more about your trouble (servers, IPs, ...).
I agree, this was useless and too depending of each setup and usage. ;)

Ya i found that too at times, but I would just search the IPs' or sites that were generally being blocked, then update cfg (excludelists=) & just ignore the problematic lists from ever being downloaded from the main list.

I have had a good experience with the list from @Viktor Jaep
I exclude a large list aimed at folks with VOIP servers.
Code:
## Counters / Lists ##
blacklist1count="161233"
blacklist2count="12051"
customlisturl="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ViktorJp/Skynet/main/filter.list"
customlist2url=""
countrylist=""
excludelists="update"

Ok, using this list @saison2023 shared: "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jumpsmm7/GeneratedAdblock/refs/heads/master/myfilter.list"

I have found during the day some unwanted blocks such as DDNS tplinkdns.com & asuscomm.com which has behind Web servers/OpenVPN/Wireguard.
Also my VPN service Windscribe does not work.

I whitelisted them on Skynet, but I'm still unable to connect to VPN servers behind those ddns or Windscribe servers...

I switched from the default list to https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ViktorJp/Skynet/main/filter.list today and also noticed that I was unable to externally connect to my openvpn server (on the router) from Windscribe.

I changed it to TCP (from UDP) (same custom port defined in the Advanced settings) and it connected. I haven't done any further digging to know if this is a safe enough change or if I should find the root problem and go back to UDP.

I don't want to derail this thread but just wanted to say "me too" on the Windscribe experience.

You could also just add the server IP to the skynet whitelist and you should be fine. If you use VPNMON-R3 to manage your connections, it can automatically add your VPN server IPs to the whitelist.

Thanks for the reply (and the list). By server IP, you mean my router's external IP right?
The problem there is my ISP won't provide a static ip sinc I am not a business so I rely on the router performing DDNS update. My ovpn file has to be updated to have the domain instead of the IP like.

I'll look into VPNMon-R3 as I am not familiar with it but perhaps it will solve this.

No, the server IP you're coming from externally to connect to your internal VPN server. If available. Depending on the situation, you may have to whitelist a range.

After rereading your question, it actually won't solve this particular scenario. It's only meant for managing outbound clients.

Edit: I saw the previous user mention Windscribe so made a connection but I don't think there is one. I had tested with skynet disabled last night but I must have botched that test as today it doesn't matter if skynet is on or off - udp fails. So looks like just a matter of bad timing with me changing lists and noticing vpn not working. Will look for other changes that may have happened (app, isp, etc) but won't muddy this thread.
