Running Asuswrt-Merlin 386.8 on AX88U.

I have created my own customised .nanorc file so that editing files (using the nano editor) becomes more visually clear.

Question: At which location do I create/ keep the file .nanorc?

Things I have already tried:
1) Keeping it in the root (/tmp/home/root) - the nano editor uses it as well; however the .nanorc file gets deleted on reboot of the router.
2) I then copied the .nanorc in the /jffs/configs folder (same location as profile.add), but then nano editor does not use it?

Anyone can assist or point me to some document that describes such locations for the router OS?

@RMerlin : Help !

/jffs/configs/nanorc (without the dot).
