I experience similar due to weird routing agreements. Here with Lumen in the twin cities Quad 9 goes to chicago, even though there are local servers. Someone I know in central Indiana, which should use the servers in indianapolis or chicago, goes to ashburn VA.Interesting. Quad9 from my location used to send on a trip to other countries. Haven't checked lately what vacations agency they have teamed up with.
