which one is better?

i was wondering if sleep mode and operation mode on these units are accurate? according to the testfreaks website the synology is Power Consumption: 25W(Access); 10W(HDD Hibernation) thats 12w more than the qnap,which nas box would u guys reccommend? i want to be able to add 2tb now and maybe in about 1-2 months another 2tb.making it 4tb total.could i format one 2tb drive now and format the second one later? also could i plug in external hdd to usb slot and stream from it? will be using it for nzb,http downloads,dvd and blu ray streaming,backing up files from the computer,can the usb slot be used to stream videos off of external hdd?
