No. In the context that this is an internet gateway device, the purpose of the UPnP feature is to allow applications running on the LAN to automatically create "port forwarding" rules through the routers firewall (that's why it's in the WAN section). With this feature turned off you would have to manually setup the port forwarding.It's my understanding that UPnP is intended to be used on local network only...
