Wired Database Lan wants to go wirelessly???

I have 8 computers connected to a gigabit switch. They all shares databases and files. Please note that no internet connection is available or shared to this LAN. If I want the 9th laptop to connect wirelessly to this LAN, what should I do????

Can I do the following


16-Port unmanaged gigabit switch <---> DAP-1522 <---> 9th workstation

Please advise. TIA

That will work. Or you can convert any wireless router to an AP.

BTW, do I have to go for DAP-1522 or just use my existing G router as an AP? At first I am thinking about DAP-1522 because it has gigabit lan port. So it might go well with my gigabit switch, IMHO.

An 11g router will give you an average of about 10 Mbps throughput with a medium strength signal, ~20Mbps with a strong one. You'd get probably ~50 Mbps with the DAP1522. No need for a Gigabit LAN port.
