Wireless Repeater with outside antenna

Kshaw

Occasional Visitor
My airplane hangar has an Xinfinity hotspot nearby. I can pickup a great signal when I am outside the hangar but the signals do not penetrate the steel siding. I am looking for a repeater with a connection to an outside antenna where I can pick up the outside signal but can connect to the internet inside the hangar. Anyone make something like this?

I would use a Ubiquiti NanoStation Loco on the outside of the hanger connected back inside with an ethernet cable. The LocoM2 is for 2.4ghz (which is what I would image the hotspot is) the LocoM5 is for 5ghz. This is directional so you need to point it in the direction the signal is coming from.

Then use whatever wireless AP or router you want inside the hangar.

Just as a heads up - running a repeater on a public hotspot (xfinity or other) will impact everyone on that hotspot, cutting their bandwidth in half...

so be a good neighbor...
