YazFi issues with connecting to DNS on my LAN

Not sure if it's mentioned above, but I had similar issue with using my PiHole and AdGuard Home DNS servers with Merlin/YazFi and Guest Networks.

The problem was that the Guest Network had "Access Intranet" DISABLED and therefore could not access the local DNS servers I had set up. Switched it to ENABLED and all works.

Before this,... I wasted a lot of time troubleshooting, rebuilding DNS servers, etc,... this was the only place that hinted about enabling the local network to give access to DNS. Should have been obvious.

Thanks!

Yes, that allows guest network(s) to access local DNS server(s), but it also allows devices on your guest network(s) to potentially access ANY device on your network. I have opted to configure my guest/IoT networks to use Quad9's privacy-respecting (collects no information about users, and is governed by Swiss privacy law, while protecting from malware) DNS servers (9.9.9.11 and 149.112.112.11) rather than to open up my network. To each his own...

Hi I appreciate the advice but this has always been enabled - in fact I think with YazFi this enabled by default. I know this isn't my issue though because the DNS does work for the guest it's just intermittent and tends to mess up when I make ANY changes to my router's settings.

Normal guest network config should have this disabled but I think YazFi does something under the hood to ensure only the pinhole access to DNS even with this option enabled. Don't quote me on that though, I've just read this before here.
