ZenWiFi BD4 – WLAN clients not listed

SamCB

New Around Here
Hi,

I've just set up a ZenWiFi BD4 router and its 2 nodes (ethernet backhaul), and everything seems to be working fine. UL/DL speed is good, I only had some issues with the 2nd node not wanting to connect and needing a few resets, but it has been stable since then.

The single main issue (not that it's really blocking), is that the list of clients (whether on the main page or in the network view) is wildly inaccurate. According to my modem (see drawing below for the setup), there are about 36 connected devices (LAN and WLAN). ASUS on the other hand only reports about 5 or 6, where only the device I'm using to connect to the router's webpage is showing up as a WLAN device, all the other 5 are LAN devices.

All LAN connected devices in my network are connected to either gigabit switch. There are no devices connected to the ZenWifi nodes. Any other device is wireless. At any given moment, there should be about 12 wireless devices spread over the three nodes.

I've read that killing the asusdiscovery process and/or rebooting the router node should help (albeit temporarily), but I've had no such luck.

These nodes are replacing my former Apple Airport Extreme/Express access points, which were located in the exact same location in the topology, and were perfectly able to show all wireless clients connected to it. So technically speaking, it should be possible, but I don't know whether this is a product limitation, bug or a misconfiguration on my part.

Any help/pointers are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

ASUSWRT client lists can be unreliable. Let a new network settle down for a few days and they may become more accurate.
