Repeater Modus on Ac68 with 378.56 is broken. Clients Ac68 get no IP. Back to 378.54_2 and it works. Can anyone confirm.

VLAN now works on vodafone pt 378.56.1 on ac87u.

2 RT-AC87 with with 378.56_1 different nat loopback results

Whit different ISP´s one works with Merlin option the other only with Asus

Not sure this is a bug or what. I admit I've not searched the forum yet.

I just upgraded from 55 to 56 on my rt-ac68u and on the Admin page, if you just click apply I get this error:

"Please enter a value between 1024 to 65535" and the HTTPS Lan port value is highlighted. Not sure why the default of 443 is unacceptable - since it is running on that port. So I have to suspect this is a temp issue caused by something in my settings or a bug.

NOTE - I did not reset my config. and I only permit router access via HTTPS on port 443.

HTTPS on the router runs on 8443 port, not on HTTPS (443) port, thats due to 443 port being reserved to Cloud service.

Hi all. Been a happy user of an RT-AC66U for over a year now with Merlin's firmware. The recent upgrade to 378.56 introduced some instability with my Sonos player and Canon printer - both were unable to maintain their wireless network connection. They'd connect just fine after a reboot but drop off soon after. Reverting back to 378.55 appears to have resolved the issue.

What information/logs/traces/etc can I provide to help troubleshoot this?

Thanks,
Mike

None. Wireless is what it is, I can't do anything about it. Completely closed source. best you can do is follow the usual recommendations: forget the profile and reconfigure your devices, make sure you are using a channel that's not too crowded or overlapping, set the 2.4 GHz channel to 20 MHz, etc...

hi merlin
thanks for your firmwares been using them forever.
Is this the time ASUS starts abandoning the RT N66?

Asus do still support it according to their official forum,

http://www.snbforums.com/threads/official-rt-n66u-firmware-version-3-0-0-4-378-9235.27622/

I guess they are not so fast to release the GPL so Merlin can work with the sourcecode (Merlin did mention it that they have changed how they release GPL/sourcecode so its not easy for him him right now).

I guess one could check the size of the user-entered data, and if it's exactly the same length as the field limit (3499 if I remember correctly), then issue a warning.

Yeah, that's probably a good idea to prevent stupid users like me from bricking their devices :D Luckily these routers have the resque mode, so we don't have to worry about permanently breaking anything.

When I go to the download page for my router, RT-AC56U, I don't see any releases since 2013. I was under the impression Merlin supports all AC routers. If so where do I locate this release for my specific device? Thanks

I had the same problem when I first updated to a Merlin build. Thing is, the folder dates always show something like 2013, which is apparently when the folder was created. If you open it, you'll find files with more recent dates ;)

I am getting that one too. Never happened before 378.56, is it a bug?

I have tried changing pool.ntp.org to direct IP address but that didn't resolve this issue for me.

I saw this thread but I am not really sure how to apply these changes.

I noticed this as well. I only see this one AC87 that is in router mode. The two other AC87 in AP mode are fine as well as two AC68 in bridge mode.
I did notice changing my DNS server on the WAN seems to make the ntp work at least until I reboot. After reboot changing it back to auto ntp starts working again.
No custom dnsmasq config file.

as well as two AC68 in bridge mode

Is the AC68 working in Repeater mode with 378.56? I have some Problems with the Repeater mode on the AC68. My clients on AC68 get no IP from the Main Router AC87.

@RMerlin
I think it is an bug in the site survey on the AC87U. (378.56)
It stays at: "Searching for available networks, please wait... " been like this now for 5 min.
On my AC68U is working good.

Thanks RMerlin. One other note - other wireless devices work just fine - just these two depend on some discoverability (Bonjour? Sonos discovery?) In any case, everything else (MACs PC's, iOS devices) appear to work well. Ring any bells or should I just roll back and be happy?

Cheers,
Mike

Hi there I'm using official fw 378.9135. I do have the problem with the router is waking my network printer hourly as also seen with Merlin fw 378.55 (http://www.snbforums.com/threads/37...lly-waking-up-network-attached-printer.26529/)
Before switching to the actual Merlin fw I would like to know if the bug is resolved meanwhile? I could not find anything on that in l the latest changelog…
If this is not fixed, is there an idea for a workaround?

Thanks

Hi all, I've a strange problem with my AC68U using this latest merlin.

Code:
admin@RT-AC68U:/tmp/home/root# nvram show | grep clk
size: 51802 bytes (13734 left)
clkfreq=800,666

If I set nvram set clkfreq=1200,800 then nvram commit and reboot, after the boot I get clkfreq=800,666

I tried to set the clock several time, on 1000 or 1200.
Previously this router was o'clocked to 1200,800 for several months.. Zero problems..
I don't know exactly when router stopped to work ad 1200 and reset itself to 800,666 ..
My bootload is the 1.0.2.0 version, and I used only Merlin firmwares.
