You can check the subnets of all VPNs (servers and clients). Maybe same subnets are being used.

I don't use PPTP but, both OpenVPN server and client is active on my router and all working fine.

Thanks a lot for the advice.
I tested the openvpn server with the orginal asus firmware of my 68u before, but it didn't worked with an active client.

where I can check which subnets are used, in the advanced settings of the pptp server only the IP adress 192.168.10.X is listed. The router normally works in the 192.168.1.X net.

My local IP of my vpn client is identical with the pubic ip according to the vpn status site....185.x.x.x

How can I hide all DHCP traffic from system log? Seems that this version is logging more info of dnsmasq-dns than before.

I was browsing around the ai protection section all of which I have enabled and I got kicked out of the webui and cannot reconnect to the web interface on any device. "cant be reached"

The internet and ssh access is working fine however. Has the web server possible crashed can I restart is via ssh without a reboot? I am using https webui

edit
service restart_httpd
worked.

Check your error message, that's how I figured it was caused by an extension.

Check in Mozilla, type config:about, search for media.peerconnection.enabled
if it says "FALSE" this could be causing it. Try switching it to "TRUE".

I think I turned mine to "FALSE" because it was leaking my IP.
As soon as I did that, I got the same thing, I could not log into the router.
Other browsers worked though. And for some reason beyond me, this setting is tied to extensions.

Let us know if that was it.

So after doing a little tinkering I found out that my Javascript blocker (NoScript) had, for some reason, started reblocking the scripts on the admin page after I upgraded to the 382 betas, even though the whitelists were working just fine on the 36x builds..weird.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyways, just re-whitelisted router.asus.com and I was back in action. Hope this helps anyone with the same issue..

Again, thanks @RMerlin for the solution and @OOo for the suggestion.

Option on the DHCP page.

With beta 2, on an 88U, I just lost all wifi signal for 5G band. Rebooting the router brought it back. I did not have this issue with Beta 1. I'll keep beta 2 and see if it reoccurs, or if it was a fluke.

Did you do a factory reset without importing any saved settings? If not I know its a hassle but it works most of the time for weirdness.

I have found that if AIprotection is enabled, RAM used is about 50%, disabled 22%.

guys, don't worry about ram, here is mine; (AB-Maximum+, Skynet, Adaptive QoS enabled, AiProtection enabled, "Memory Management: Regularly flush caches (default: Yes)" disabled)

Memory is there to be used. As long as you're not running out, then it's fine. If you're that worried, use a USB to create a swap file to stop the router crashing if it runs out of memory.

Hello, I have update my Ac68u to last beta 382 and after about a week there is a problem!! I have noted, suddenly, a Great download band reduction... from about 98Mbps to 20Mbps!!only after a reboot all was ok. What's the problem? Thanks

Hello everyone!

I use a separate DHCP server for our guest network. does anyone know if you can block specific websites only for the guest network?

Using 382.2 Beta
RT-AC68P
Noticed that my down/up speeds on my LG phone (2016 model) are less than 2mb. (I get much higher speeds on LTE!)
My other LG Phone (2017 model), Nexus tablet, IPad, computer are getting normal Comcast speeds.
Rebooted all around, issue persists with LG phone(2016 model). I got on neighbors network and got normal speeds.
Not running a VPN.
Zero network activity
WIFI 2.4ghz

Any thoughts?

Factory reset may help.

Stop blaming the firmware with RAM utilized. More used RAM (such as cache memory) means the faster system. Only if the occupancy of RAM reaches 95% cca then it becomes critical. Be glad that the system uses more RAM ! The operating memory (RAM) is the fastest of all memory devices (EEPROM, ROM, HDD, SSD, USB storage device, etc.). The problem only occurs when 100% memory is used and does not drop down.

  • Wireless -> Site Survey - there is no conflict with the use of many identical wireless channels ?
  • What about your another WiFi clients ? The same problem with low bandwidth ?
  • Try to enable/disable "bluetooth coexistence" and "reducing USB 3.0 interference" in wireless settings (at professional page).
Of course, these are just my tips. I do not know if any of this will help ;-) . It is only for labor / testing.
