[AC68U] Download master does not download torrent magnet links

I copy pasted torrent magnet link to Download Master but after 10 seconds download just disappears. System log says following:

Nov7 20:35:05 transmission-daemon[14602]: Couldn't bind port 51413 on ::: Address already in use (Is another copy of Transmission already running?) (net.c:406)

Latest firmware 3.0.0.4.374_339 in use. I had no problems earlier when I had AC66U router in use.

Any suggestions?

I didn't think Download Master supported magnets, as it's using a far too old version of Transmission.

AC66U works just fine with magnets. It is also mentioned in the Download Master that you can copy paste magnet links so those definitely should be working.

Can somebody also try with AC68U? I just want to narrow down the problem that is it my configuration only or is it AC68U in general.

They might have updated it at some point then, cause they used to be based on a version that was too old for it.

Got a response from Asus support. Unfortunately response was just a common bulls*** with instructions below:
1. Please uninstall and reinstall Download Master
2. Watch this Youtube video for Download Master usage
3. Please see our Troubleshooting and FAQ pages

i've got this issue too.
tried everything: uninstalled/installed DM, factory reset the router, switched from access point to router, disbaled firewall, etc..

(question: where did you get that log?)

I've got a question for you guys. Why would you even try downloading torrents on a router? Don't you have a PC that can actually handle the load?

I ordered a $220 router and I want to be able to do whatever it was supposed to.

I can't ask for a replace (I'm not at USA anymore), so I will have to workaround.

I'm guessing you have a low bandwidth internet conenction if downloading torrents on a router works for you. You're right, as a functionality it should work. I just didn't expect anyone to actually use it.

For sure but for me Download Master is one of the key reasons I actually use Asus routers in the first place.

Log is the system log from router admin page. Can't remember the exact location...

I supposed that.. but I thought it could be any other log because here there is no activity related with DM on system log :(

I'm researching on how to install pyLoad and use it instead of DM/transmission. There is a good tutorial here but i've got an error at the following line:

python pyLoadCore.py --changedir --configdir=/opt/pyload/.pyload

i'll try it again when I get back home.. try it too!

same here, not everyone has a PC running 24/7;
with Download Master you can set downloading from work or from mobile device not being forced to switch the PC on;

I 've 10Mbit/s, using torrent once per day and it's really enough for me

That's my situation too. 10mbit and an external hd plugged into the router to save time..

luka are you getting the same issue?

yes, like I already wrote :) and like merlin said - the DM client is older then on the RT-N66U, so nothing we can do;
till asus fixes it (hopefully...) my workaround is not to use magnet link but files
