Help with using DUAL Asus AC-RP56 Repeaters

OK, Never mind! I got it working!!! For anyone else that might find this post because they are having this or a similar issue with their Repeater(s). I found a hint of how to resolve the problem when I found (and then read through) the USERS MANUAL (which WAS NOT supplied with my products!)...

Help with using DUAL Asus AC-RP56 Repeaters

Hello All! I'm hoping I can get a little help with these. I can't seem to get the second one working. I'm hoping it may be just a simple answer. But I've tried everything that Icould think of but nothing seems to help. So I'm hoping someone else familiar with them might be able to help me...

Anyone familiar with the Asus RP-AC56 Range Extender?

Hello All! I was hoping I might be able to get some help with this product. I recently purchased and installed one of these yesterday. Other than finding the "Fast. Easy. Setup!" guide lacking (it was missing a few CRUCIAL steps), once I figured it out, I didn't have any issues setting it up...

Strange issue with renaming a USB drive attached to the router...

I have another question or two now if you don't mind... Not about the naming, but now it's about accessing the USB drive. I didn't try to access the drive until later (after I added the post above). But then when I did, I was surprised to get a LOG-IN panel asking for user/pass credentials...

Strange issue with renaming a USB drive attached to the router...

Thanks Collin! Changing the "_" to "-" fixed it. The drive now shows up in Windows Explorer under the same name: Thanks for the help!

Strange issue with renaming a USB drive attached to the router...

Sorry you couldn't follow Colin. But to be honest, the issue is a bit confusing anyway. I'll try explaining it again and include some photo's this time... Bottom line, I'm trying to change the DEFAULT NAME the router (RT-AC68U) assigned my USB DRIVE. But when I change the name, it's not...

Strange issue with renaming a USB drive attached to the router...

Hello all! I need some help... I recently installed an Asus RT-AC68U router. After a few days of stable running I updated the firmware yesterday with Asuswrt-Merlin (v384.5). Everything seems to be working fine, but I ran into a bit of an odd situation with an attached USB drive. To make a...

Win 10 Home Proxy detection issues with RT-N56U

Hello All, I'm hoping to get some advice on an issue I'm having with my WIFI in Windows 10 Home. I'll apologize at the beginning for the post being so long, but I thought it was necessary to get everything included in order to get the right kind of assistance. I'm using an Asus RT-N56U router...

Why would RT-AC87U NOT auto-update to latest firmware?

Thanks RMerlin for the reply. OH, OK! It didn't do them much good to add that little feature to the software if they weren't going to keep it updated or in sync with the other list! What's worse, then actually telling you they just gave you the most recent version (I didn't assume it was...

Why would RT-AC87U NOT auto-update to latest firmware?

Hello All, I just setup an RT-AC87U router. The install went without a hitch, and at the end of the setup, it ask if I wanted to auto-update the firmware, so I said yes. I figured that would save a few steps from doing it myself. BUT, here's the thing-- it DIDN'T update to the LATEST...

Upgrade antennas or add a WAP?

Hi Roger, Thanks for the additional information! Firmware... I was reading some of the post about the custom firmware yesterday, and was considering trying it out (a post I found about the "Merlin" firmware during my initial research is what brought me to the SNB forum). I'm actually...

Upgrade antennas or add a WAP?

Thanks for the advise Roger! I was leaning toward that direction, but wasn't sure if the WAP option (instead of larger antennas) would just be introducing one more piece of hardware that could cause problems with the WiFi. One more question if I may, about the router options for the...

Upgrade antennas or add a WAP?

Hi Guys, I'm looking for some advise. I'm upgrading a network at a small shop that relies mostly on WiFi. They only have two PC's that are hardwired, the rest are notebooks that rely on WiFi. I'm upgrading an older Cisco router that was installed about 5 years ago with a new Asus RT-AC87U...
