Digital audio noise from Asus PCE-AC68 wireless PCIe card

i RMA'd the wifi card and just got it back from Asus. It's the same exact card. Still making the same noise but it's much quieter now and is at a tolerable level barely audible over my fans. Not sure what they did

Digital audio noise from Asus PCE-AC68 wireless PCIe card

Thanks for the tip. I wasn't even aware of the USB ac68. The PCE ac68 does come with an external base with antennas. I think I may give the USB a try though

Digital audio noise from Asus PCE-AC68 wireless PCIe card

I unplugged every component except the wifi card, and the noise is coming directly from the card. If you google PCE ac68 noise, lots of people have had this issue and were told by Asus to RMA.

Digital audio noise from Asus PCE-AC68 wireless PCIe card

I removed the antenna base, even with no antennas connected it still makes the same loud noises

Digital audio noise from Asus PCE-AC68 wireless PCIe card

Same issue here. What did you end up doing? I'm guessing my warranty is up because I bought it a little over a year ago. The sound issue just started for me. It's coming directly from the wifi card, and I tried different PCI slots. The sound itself isn't a big deal but I'm wondering if its...

    PCE-AC68 prefer 5ghz?

Nevermind! I found this guide and followed instructions to disable 802.11g/b band which fixed the issue. Now the router only sees 5ghz channels.

    PCE-AC68 prefer 5ghz?

Anyone know how to get the AC68 to prefer 5ghz? I'm on Windows 10. My router is literally 5ft away. InSSIDer shows 5ghz at -44 and 2.4ghz at -37 signals. In the driver settings I set 'roaming decision' to optimize bandwidth and 'roam tendency' to conservative. Can't find any other settings that...

New Router Grabs More 5 GHz Channels To Speed Up Your Wi-Fi

I literally just came here to post about this to see what others think, haha. Looks really interesting. Looking at their Kickstarter page they have some neat videos explaining the technology and seem to have won a bunch of awards. I'm really curious to see snb review this thing and run some...

    PCE-AC68 Windows 10 Drivers

.338 seems to be working well for me also. http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/NETWORK-CARD/Broadcom/Broadcom-Network-Adapter-Wireless-Driver-7353380-for-Windows-10.shtml

    PCE-AC68 Windows 10 Drivers

I'm on latest win 10 insider build.. just noticed my link rate was pretty low for 5ghz, hovers between 80 and 200mbps. I'm on the latest Asus beta driver 7.35.267.0 -- I reverted to 6.30.223.228 and linkrate is now normal 1gbps.

I still see it in driver advanced options. but mine is disabled. I remember seeing ping spikes with it enabled.

    PCE-AC68 Windows 10 Drivers

Yes. I originally did have such issues.. I think what fixed it for me was turning off beam forming and enabling interference mitigation in Asus utility. I can't get into the utility anymore since latest version is broken but assuming it's still like that

    PCE-AC68 Windows 10 Drivers

Same issue with new utility. Doesn't work at all. As for new driver, I can't comment on 2.4ghz but 5ghz seems to be working ok thus far. Averaging 1ms ping to router

    PCE-AC68 Windows 10 Drivers

I read some threads on here and it's split. For some it's preferred to have 2 SSIDs, and for others it's preferred to have one and let devices roam between bands. Devices wont roam very well between 2 SSIDs at all, but between 1 SSID they will roam much better, or at least they should. A bunch...
