Using AC68U with IP TV boxes

Hello, I have another thread going here about using my AC68U behind an ActionTec modem/router which does not support bridge mode. But that thread is about working within those limitations, so starting this one to discuss using it in bridge mode. I just found a instructions on how to enable...

Wifi clients keep losing internet connection on ac68u

I thought I would be fine, as the Actiontec would issue a 17.16.1.x IP to the AC68U, then the AC68U would issue a 192.168.1.x to clients. But as I type that it does seem silly. The main reason I hadn't done this is that it is nice to manage everything from from one place. If I turn the AC68U...

Wifi clients keep losing internet connection on ac68u

hello, My ISP (SaskTel) router/modem (Actiontec) does not have a bridge mode. So I have connected my AC68U to the Actiontec's DMZ, and turned off the Actiontec wifi. But my wifi clients keep losing internet connection. They dont lose wifi connection, as I can still log into the ac68u from...

    Router/AP not stable

I have done all that. I did follow a guide originally, but must have missed the DTIM setting. Matching up the DTIM's seems to have helped quite a bit. I am going to monitor it's stability for the next couple days and see how things go.

    Router/AP not stable

Hmmm, DTIM settings were different. I put them both to 3, and will see if that helps. I notice now that the Asus has a 'roaming assistant' mode, which forces a disconnect at a certain threshold. I may play with that before I give up. However the dropcam and printer are both upstairs right...

    Router/AP not stable

Thanks for reply. I was leaning to the UniFi. A couple quick questions: 1. I assume the zero-handoff feature of the UniFi devices only works UniFi AP to UniFi AP, and not UniFi to Asus router? This feature is really attractive as, my devices seem to hold onto a weak signal way to long. 2. I...

    Router/AP not stable

I have an Asus AC-68U as my main router. It has been great, down in the basement. To get a better signal upstairs, I tried an old TP Link WA701ND AP, I picket up for under $20. It was never stable, and I was constantly having to power cycle it to get devices to connect to it. (Note that the AP...

Can I use aicloud like drop box?

I like something like dropbox/onedrive, etc for my docs. But I may try something like BitTorrentSync to keep my iTunes library in sync between laptop and desktop, as that is what I was hoping AWS or AiClould did. While AiClould is cool, I am not sure what my use case would be. If I need a...

Can I use aicloud like drop box?

Thanks. So then their Asuswebstorage is basically dropbox, but has the ability for the router's attached drive to act as another client then? I was hoping it was the ability to act as the sync server, so basically cloud storage, but the backing store is the drive attached to the router...

Can I use aicloud like drop box?

I have a bunch of files on a USB hard drive, attached to my 68U. From my windows desktop, I just access those files as a SAMBA share. ON my laptop (which I dual boot win/osx) I would like to have those files synced to it's hard drive, so I have access to them on the road without network...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.35 is out

Add User hangs Hello, AC68U using RT-AC68U_3.0.0.4_374.35_4. I have a 1TB USB2.0 disk plugged into the USB2 port. I used telnet, and formatted the disk to ext3. When I try to add a user to FTP, or to Samba, I get the 'processing' dialog popping up, but it just hangs there indefinitely...

ISP router/modem has no bridge mode. Use DMZ?

Thanks for the expanation. I found some docs, on how I can simply plug my router directly into my ONT. So I am going to give that a whirl tonight, and if that doesn't work, either return my Asus router :( or settle for double NAT. I was unable to get things working when plugged directly into my...

ISP router/modem has no bridge mode. Use DMZ?

I am not sure I understand why, can you elaborate? I think that is what I want, everything forwarded to my secondary (asus) router, so that the asus can handle NAT/firewall/port forwarding to my internal server, etc? Am I misunderstanding? @CaptainSTX I think I already have double NAT...
