    RT-AC87U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.9529

I'm most excited about this fix. I'm not exactly sure it will solve my problem, but it seems likely. Whenever I wake up in the morning and use my Galaxy S6 on 2.4GHz, it'll load 1 or 2 web pages before completely losing DNS. I have to reset Wifi or swap to 5GHz to solve the issue. 5GHz never...

    [Official] RT-AC87U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.9313

Does anyone know why an RT-AC87R (running most recent firmware .9313) setup as a media bridge shows up as a wired device in the primary router RT-AC87R (also running .9313) router client list? Also, all clients connected to the media bridge via ethernet show up as being connected via a wired...

    [Official] RT-AC87U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.9313

I have the same problem. 5Ghz drops packets when the system is working with more than one client with different numbers of antennae. For instance the 4x4 bridge and a 2x2 USB WiFi adapter connected at the same time cause packet loss. Using 80Mhz wide band. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using...

    [Official] RT-AC87U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.9177

Not sure if it applies only to this firmware, but whenever I have more than one client on my 5Ghz that is active (watching Netflix, etc), I start dropping packets to the router. About 1 in 200 packets using a standard ping -t is dropped. I am gaming on a PC wired directly into one of my AC87R...

    [Official] RT-AC87U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.9177

Thanks for the info! I have a wired printer so I will try rebooting it today. Update from installation to 9177 from 4950 last night: 1. Nothing lost access to the network, although many of my clients moved over to 2.4Ghz from 5Ghz during the night. This has always happened and I think is more...

    [Official] RT-AC87U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.9177

Ok I just flashed my two RT-AC87R units. One is in media bridge mode (5GHz connection) and the other is the primary router. So far so good. Only been running for an hour. I like the new pullout device list (not sure when this was added). I've got 6 devices wired in (it counts the devices...

    [Official] RT-AC87U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.9177

Regarding reset, I've never been able to get the router to successfully reset using either the reset button on the back nor the WPS button. I highly recommend just using the software reset button in the router GUI, it seems to work very reliably compared to the physical button methods. I still...

    [Beta] RT-AC87U 9.0.0.4.378.9110

I have the same setup as you, and I purchased these routers within the first week or two of availability (back when only the RT-AC87R was big because the U version wasn't available online yet). I tried some of the newer firmware, but 4950 was the last stable release I've had success with. I can...

    RT-AC87R Connection Drops

I have a few ideas: 1. Generally, I'd recommend setting different SSIDs for your different bands (2.4 and 5). The vast majority of the trouble I had with this router related only to 5Ghz, so separating which devices connected to 2.4Ghz was helpful in diagnostics. 2. The iPhone 6 wifi calling...

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

I'm on 4950. This morning my 5Ghz network changed SSID from what it normally is to **. The 2.4Ghz remained functional but I had to reboot to get 5Gh working. Otherwise I had been running on 8 days of continuous uptime. Still better than the other firmware releases.

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

Are you using 2.4GHz? I also noticed a bit of a slowdown on 2.4Ghz but a massive increase in stability on 5.0Ghz. For that alone I'm sticking with the newer firmware, but I wonder what setting changed for 2.4Ghz.

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

This might sound silly, but do you mean hot as in sexy or hot as in high CPU temperatures?

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

Not sure about that, but I think Merlin has said that clicking on the factory reset option in the ASUS web interface is the same as pressing the reset button for 5 seconds.

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

Install the 87u firmware on the 87r, ASUS does not update the 87r page as often. But they are still completely identical.

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

If I understand your point correctly, usually you only want one router active on a network. Otherwise, you are running two competing networks, or one network as a subset of the other. This is redundant on a home network scale and causes conflicts or issues with systems trying to communicate...
