I live in a rural area but have 4G available for my phone and can use it as a wireless access point. I'd like to replace my very expensive (150/mo) satellite Internet service with my phone as access point.
I bought a TP-Link WR702N bridge and am able to get the bridge to connected to the phone and the router connects through the bridge. The LAN port on the bridge is connected to the WAN port on my router and the router is configured to get an IP address from DHCP. But I can't get the router to route in this configuration. If I unplug the router WAN from the bridge and connect it to my satellite modem it works perfectly. If I connect my laptop to the wireless on the bridge it will get an IP address from DHCP on the phone-as-WAP.
The phone wifi and the bridge wifi are on the same channel, as required.
Not sure what else I can offer as information. Has anyone set up a network from their phone-as-WAP to a bridge to a router to their home network, both wireless and wired? How did you make it work?
