Losing access to ADSL modem status page

That's good. I found out on my modem access by accident. I upgraded the N66 firmware to 254 and two IP addresses were shown on the WAN port. Never expected the 192.168.2.xxx series of IP because, in general, when "external" routers issue the PPPoE request, the modem tend to be converted...

Losing access to ADSL modem status page

I have a successful ADSL access with my N66. My ADSL modem is also a router which assigns 192.168.2.xxx series of IP address, I created my N66 LAN with the 10.0.1.xxx series addresses and let my N66 control the PPPoE connections. So I have access the the WAN IP and my ADSL IP address of...

    EA-N66 as Ethernet adapter

I returned it to the local store. At $100 for an "adapter" that was not working as expected, I was not willing to waste my money. I have another 6 in 1 wireless broadband device that I use with my tablet. It just a 150Mbps device and works, when necessary, for giving wifi to my tablet. It...

    EA-N66 as Ethernet adapter

Internet access server is a specialized PC that acts like a firewall / email server with 2 network adapters. This has been working for "ages" and sends out IP addresses to any adapter that issues a DHCP request. I've added a AP so as to offer 2.4Ghz wifi networking. Most wireless "wifi"...

    EA-N66 as Ethernet adapter

Internet access server is providing DHCP IP addresses over the the network. A standard Access Point is providing 2.4GHz wifi networking. I was interested in the EA-N66 because of the 3 in 1 functionality. When in Ethernet adapter modem, the "original" DHCP "service" is not available. Also...

    EA-N66 as Ethernet adapter

I've been trying a Asus EA-N66 adapter as a Ethernet based access to an AP that is not directly on the Internet. The AP working correct directly but no traffic can go out to the Internet via the EA-N66. The first thing I did was to update the firmware to 1.0.1.7d. What am I doing wrong?

What to expect from the N66U?

I've been moving up thru the various 802.11n levels. I've had: D-Link DIR-615 -- slow and "diconnected: often Netgear WNDR3700 v1 -- good, reliable, stable -- but died Looked for the next level of routers: Belkin N600 Dual band -- p.o.s -- no port forwarding rules worked --...

Can't access files on one computer from another

Under the N66U Wireless section, access the "Professional" tab. Check the setting: Set AP isolated. If this is turned on, it blocks every wireless device from seeing other devices.

    Problems Updating Firmware RT-N66U

This seems to be the constant message that I also get when attempting to update via the web configuration pages of my N66U. The update always work when using an Ethernet cabled access and the firmware update file is on my local drives.

    RT-N66U -- DDNS problems?

I love my RT-N66U router with the stock .112 firmware. It constantly works well, compaired to my older WNDR3700v1 router. It's internal DDNS function seems to be not working well. Does anyone know how often the DDNS gets updated? I use dyndns.org for DDNS.

    RT-N66U 2,4Ghz issues

Well, I replied too soon. The 40Mhz width setting did not last. There seems to be more issues on the 2.4Ghz for me. I need to also set the: Control Channel: 6 Extension Channel: {anything but Auto} and the Wireless mode can be Auto with b/g protection. There seems to might be issues...

    FYI: USB-N53 adapter issues

For you information, the driver and utility for the USB-N53 adapters appears to not work in some versions of Windows, at least with Windows XP. You can directly replace the Asus version of the drivers with the Ralink Windows drivers. http://www.ralinktech.com/en/04_support/license.php?sn=5007

    RT-N66U 2,4Ghz issues

AnthonyArmato Thanks! It seems that the 2.4Ghz band does not automatically switch to the 40Mhz band, which the 5.0Mhz seem to do. 300Mbps on each band now.

    RT-N66U 2,4Ghz issues

As I stated, I'm trying to replace a Netgear WNDR3700v1 router that is failing. I was suggested the ASUS RT-N66U Dark Knight 900Mbps router. However, the 2.4Ghz network will not go past the 130-144Mbps access speed, which does not happen with my 3700v1 router. I tried the following wireless...

    RT-N66U 2,4Ghz issues

I was attaempting to set up the RT-N66U with the same settings that oare on my WNDR3700v1, in hopes to just be a "swap out." As I say, the 2.4GHz network will only give 130 to 144Mbps with my my Netgear WNDA3100v2 adapters. They work when on the 5.0Ghz network and get 300Mbps. As for channel...

    RT-N66U 2,4Ghz issues

I'm replacing my Netgear WNDR3700v1 with the "nice" RT-N66U. Now my Netgear WNDA3100v2 (2 units) will not connect past 130-144 Mbps. The Netgear "managment" software also only liist one channnel, instead of the two for the usually "channel width." However, when I switch to the 5.0Ghz band...
