[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.67 is now available

For some reason this slowed my router speed down. I have an 80mb Fibre connection in the UK, average speed test around 76mb. With this firmware couldn't get above 9mb testing on multiple machines. I didn't do a factory reset though. Back to .66 and everything is fine again. Weird. This is...

    Wireless Printer Keeps Dropping

Thank you for your reply. Turn off what? Edit: Didn't even know that setting existed! Under Wireless/Professional. Thank you.

    Wireless Printer Keeps Dropping

Hello All The original Asus firmware had this issue, and Merlin's firmware seem to fix the issue apart from the latest one I've just installed. It's on an Asus RT-AC5300 and the printer (Epson ET-2250) will be detected, print happily, and then effectively go offline never to be found again...

    RT-AC5300 - Multiple Static IPs?

That's cool, I will give it a go when I get home. Any (major) performance issues in doing the routing tables?

    RT-AC5300 - Multiple Static IPs?

Nick, that is more or less exactly what I'm trying to do. And have done previously with a Draytek router. My conclusion is that it isn't possible on most consumer routers I've looked at sadly.

    RT-AC5300 - Multiple Static IPs?

Correct, that is the isp. Is there a different firmware you can recommend? I used to use Merlin a long while ago on an old Asus. Thanks.

    RT-AC5300 - Multiple Static IPs?

    Surprise Surprise .... this is Zen :) So it's x.x.x.32 - x.x.x.39 / 29 This means that the ASUS can't do it? That's disappointing.

    RT-AC5300 - Multiple Static IPs?

Hello I have received a block of 8 IP's from my ISP and can't figure out how to configure the router to use them. There are in the range x.x.x.32 - x.x.x.39. From what I understand, the .39 is the broadcast address, the .38 is the router and .32 is the network address, leaving 5 usable. I've...

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

So ..... why did it only update today? Just wondering as I go to the firmware page every so often and today was the only one where it flagged the update.

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

My router just told me to update the firmware. So now it is running 3.0.0.4.376_2769

Increasing the WiFi Range of RT-AC87

Thank you for the replies. I am using the latest firmware (2061) and did reset it. That's a shame about the power and not being able to change the settings. I have been playing with telnet and can run some commands but they appear to have no effect. Not sure why they would limit the...

Increasing the WiFi Range of RT-AC87

I have just swapped out my AC68 for a AC87 and the WiFi range in 2.4ghz is worse. However, I played extensively with the AC68, changing the region, messing around with the setting to get maximum power that I could. Can I do something similar here? Are there any guides? It is set to US at...

    NETGEAR Debuts AC3200 Nighthawk

I had the original nighthawk and swapped it for an Asus RT-AC68U. The main problem for me was VPN as it only used OpenVPN which wasn't much use for simple connections. The wireless range was also not quite as good as the Asus.

    ASUS RT-AC68U Port Forwarding

Perhaps you can give a bit more detail about what you are trying to do? Simple port forwarding (like http or ftp) is relatively straightforward: Login to the router, click on WAN on the left hand menu then on Virtual Server / Port forwarding on the top menu. Enter a name, port, IP of...

    68U and TX Power Doubt

I added a high gain antenna (the middle antenna) and upped to power to 200 and can now get a signal all over the house. Even with the antenna, leaving it at 100 would give dead spots.

ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.4561 is out

Yes. Me as well. Weak signal, sudden heavy traffic and reboot. Usually with iPhone / iPad but I guess that is just because they have a weak signal in comparison to a laptop.

ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.4561 is out

As recommended earlier, I put on Merlin's Firmware:3.0.0.4.374.40_alpha4 and haven't had a reboot in over a day. It must be quite embarrassing for Asus that the latest firmware reboots continually for some (me included) so I would have thought they would of fixed it by now.

ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.4561 is out

Having just chatted to my ISP, the router is disconnecting 40-50 times a day. I've gone back to 3.0.0.4.374_4422 to see if that is any better.

ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.4561 is out

As mentioned earlier, I can tie mine down to specifically my iPhone. If I have low wireless strength and try to do something bandwidth intensive the router reboots. This is true of Merlin's beta firmware as well.

ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.4561 is out

My router (RT-AC68U) reboots if I do anything bandwidth intensive with my iPhone. It'll stream movies do speedtests etc.. quite happily from any other wired or wireless device. Do a speedtest on the iPhone, or try to stream (from iPlayer for example) and the router immediately reboots. Most...
