    RT-AC86U 2.4GHz problems

I did not post soliciting help. Just saying same issue.

    RT-AC86U 2.4GHz problems

No, I fully understand. Your solution is not the right solution for me. Bricking is NOT the issue. The issue is I am 5 months into a 2 year warranty. Installing third party software onto said router voids said warranty. That is in the fine print of the warranty. I have experience with Merlin...

    RT-AC86U 2.4GHz problems

I was not aware I needed to give evidence with so many posts stating the same thing. Downgrading firmware to what it came with did not help. Upgrading firmware did not help. Full resets with both do not help. I do not see how adding third party firmware to something that should literally work...

    RT-AC86U 2.4GHz problems

I literally got hit with this this weekend. 2.4 kicks everyone and drops to channel 0. I have been having sporadic problems but now only a reset or reboot solves it. I thought about installing Merlin but figured it 2 different firmware's don't work, this wont either. I have set up an RMA...

    Best router for my situation

I admit the 86u is grabbing my attention. Is it worth the $40 to get it?

    Best router for my situation

I live in a complex that has great broadband. I have been annoyed with my Linksys's inability to keep things running, and since my alexa stuff does not work nice with OpenWRT, it's time to get rid of it... The needs are 2 bedrooms (the linksys fails at this). Great for 4K streaming to 2 TV's...

Can be used a satellite dish as an wifi antena?

It was about 8 years ago. I did not have a phone with me for pics at the time. It was literally rigged out of temporary necessity in the middle of nowhere Michigan. It worked great especially at night.

Can be used a satellite dish as an wifi antena?

I have taped wifi antenna to the receiver on a satellite dish and gotten wifi a mile away. It was not the most ideal setup, but it worked.

    RT-N66U passing on

I replaced it with a Linksys WRT1900ACS a week ago. I waited until tax return time. It worked good until tonight. It turns out it installed a new to it firmware. Went from version 1.0.0.168229 to 1.0.0.169041. And it went nuts. I am seeing DDWRT in this things future. After rolling it back...

    RT-N66U passing on

I sadly already tried a new AC adapter. No dice. I've been keeping an eye on it. It looks like part of it is my ISP dropping, but its not THAT bad. The wifi just lags and lags bad. I think in looking at a replacement I also want raw horsepower if that makes sense. We do a lot of Netflix, Hulu...

    RT-N66U passing on

Well, after 4 or 5 years of service. My trusty steed, the RT-N66U is dying. It started with odd internet drops. Though that still goes on, but it is now dragging on the WiFi, and yet the LAN connection runs perfect. I can actually blame the net drops on my ISP. But it shows a 100mbps wifi...

Opening Apartment NIB to Replace Line

I have an issue where my ISP ran a line from my apartment box outside (has line for all the apartments) to a window in my apartment. This was supposed to be a temporary solution but thanks to politics between my isp and apartment building it's become a permanent one. The ISP used the wrong type...
