Max rate I can get today is 54.
Changed nothing except now on Win 8.1.
Firmware 205. Using RT N66u as an AP - 2.4 and 5GHz on 40MHz
AC68 is only on 5MHz 80GHz.
The AC68 is used to push large photo files (NAS) to wifes rMBP in her office.

InSSider can't currently handle AC routers (as of the last time I checked on their website about a week ago).

If the rMBP has AC hold down the option button and click on the airport menubar icon, it will give you connection stats. Selecting "wireless diagnostics" in that menu (assuming mountain lion) then selecting command-2 (IIRC) will do a detailed wifi scan on both bands.

Thanks P.J. but I went thru all of this with Asus support. Returning it for refund right now. Im going to wait this out a while before I decide to to full blown AC.
It was great for two days thou. Cut her load times by about 1/2. I'll put her back up on the RT-N66 on 5GHz/40.
Somethings not right because my iPhone 5s would connect and I do not believe its capable to do so on AC-n/80GHz. Thou I may be wrong.
