So the story of my router is, i got a speed of 400mbps from our internet service provider.

before, i was able to get 400 something from my router through wifi

for whatever reason, i am not sure whether this happens before or after an internet issue with our service provider

i then notice my wifi speed goes down to 250 and sometime 150mbps

but my lan speed is still 400 something.

i tried to upgrade my asus to latest software and the speed improved a little bit.

i dont go to admin settings of my router if it is unnecessary

i try to troubleshoot but i cant seem to find the solution.

i need help on this please.

i tried to search the internet but i cant find any solution.

help!

oh, i used asus stock software.

again, basic troubleshooting, i did reboot. close the router and reopen.

do i need to something else?

Your PC or whatever you're testing with may be jumping over to 2.4Ghz instead of 5 (assuming you're using the same SSID for both or have both SSIDs in the device)?

That's just one guess, without a lot more info hard to make an educated suggestion.

Smart connect, isn't.

Test by using 3 separate SSIDs.

Agree, use separate SSIDs. SmartConnect doesn't work well. My experience is that the wifi performance is always better with separate SSIDs. As soon as the client switches to 2.4, the performance deteriorates considerably.
