Asustor revealed several new storage-related products at this year’s Computex, including new business class NASes, updates to its ADM OS, Surveillance Center and multimedia products and enhancements to MyArchive backup.

Asustor introduced three new rackmounts; the 4-bay AS6204RD and AS6204RS, and the 12-bay AS6212RD. Asustor didn’t provide specifics about the new models, however the company does mention that all the new NASes will include the latest quad-core processor, expandable memory and an abundance of I/O interfaces. In comparison, prior models sported Intel Celeron 1.6 GHz quad-core processors, and 4 GB of RAM that’s expandable to 8 GB. Neither price nor availability was given for the new rackmount NASes.

Asustor also introduced its third generation ADM interface. ADM 3.0 adds more customizable features for its interface to better support 4K displays, including automatic resizing of fonts and layout options. For system administrators, Asustor added client notifications for users logging into and out of NAS systems.

MyArchive, Asustor’s cold backup solution, gets enhancements that bumps up the number of simultaneous configurable hard disks from 2 to N-1, AES 256-bit encryption, and adds support for EXT4, NTFS and HFS+ file systems. MyArchive users also have the option to run MyArchive disks off of external USB/eSATA enclosures or off a list of 20 other NAS devices.

Also, the company is introducing CMS Lite, a soon to be released Surveillance Center application that centralizes up to 32 multiple NVR systems onto one server. CMS Lite maxes out at 128 cameras, whose user permissions can be granularly administered on a per camera basis. As for Surveillance Center itself, the application now gets better browser support, adding Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge and IE, as well as HTTPS encryption for video feeds. Local search and playback feature for video and audio is added as well. For camera support, Asustor adds another 43 cameras to Surveillance Center’s compatibility list, bringing the list to over 700 products.

Lastly, Asustor is showing off its own LooksGood and SoundsGood web-based media players. Both applications are paired with their own mobile apps that allow for mobile streaming from the NAS to a phone or tablet, as well as remote control of speaker-attached NASes for in-room playback.
