Bug with latest 3.0.0.4.378_4850 : Gui index window messed up

Interfacing my RT-AC68U wireless router through Mac OS X.

Went this AM from 4585 to 4850 using the upload function on the interface.

After restart I get a very partial interface window as per attached.

Fortunately the router works well. I just can't view/change any setting and even less upload an older firmware or a future one....

I am concerned that if I do a reset, the router will just restart with this latest buggy 4850 but then without any of the services I setup, which would bring me to a worse situation. (I do have a saved settings file but this is no good if the same buggy screen comes up).

Tried the "Advanced_FirmwareUpgrade_Content.asp" where I can select the previous 4585 firmware alright but then the action button "upload" does not react at all. Am I using the wrong .asp command ? Is there another one that would work ? How can I get out of this mess ?

Besides, is there a list of all Asus ".asp" commands somewhere that would help me now or in the future to access individual pages, for ex. to view or change settings etc. ?

I have seen this before, solved it by refreshing the page or deleting the browser cache and restart. Have you tried with a different browser?

I got the exact same problem you've got and got no fix for the time being. I am not able to reinstall a firwmware upgrade : my routeur is a brick. Please help !

Thanks but to be able to change "language" you need to have access to a normal interface that let's you do this.

If you look at the original posting, the choice is limited.

Do you have the ".asp" command to change the language ? I also tried to access my router from a PC within my network: same limited interface.

Wouldn't be the first time Asus's webui breaks for French or Italian, due to the insertion of unescaped quotes in the dictionary files.

If you access the webui using an English browser, it should in theory use the English version of its pages.

No, unplugging does not solve. I would try to use an English browser, so...

EDIT: switch browser language does not solve anything.

Well finally, after a RESET that produced no results, I had my son (using a PC whereas I use a Mac) using the RECOVERY utility of Asus, back to the previous (working) firmware. This worked fine, all is back to normal.
Strangely enough, I thought that performing a reset would get my settings lost : not the case. Reset, restore... all my original settings where present and the unit works like a charm.

Asus European support were not willing to provide me with anything but these two options : they did not even address my request to get some basic .asp command lines (such as http://192.168.1.1/Advanced_FirmwareUpgrade_Content.asp) not even why it may not work that way. Rather deceived by their very basic support but now that it works, I will collect all these .asp command lines manually.

Not all of them are present on every router models, many of these are also only used internally, and these may change at any time (which is why basic tech support cannot provide that kind of technical information), but here's the list of pages available in 378_4980:

Asus (basic) Tech support (based in Germany) had my exact model number and firmware... they are just not much going "out of their way".
