An RT-AC68U is outfitted with 384.13 performs as expected, except DHCP clients do not populate the client list:

What diagnostics steps can be taken to determine root-cause and corrective action?

You are running an ancient version of the firmware on your RT-AC68U in your signature... did you upgrade to v384.13 from that firmware... without doing a full reset to factory defaults followed by a minimal and manual configuration (do not use a saved backup config file) to secure the router and connect to your ISP?

I would recommend flashing v384.14_2 and doing a full M&M Config/Nuclear Reset if the issue still persists.

What options, scripts, and other modifications have you made to your router?

Is this a genuine Asus RT-AC68U, or a converted TM unit?

I maintain several routers and should keep a log for each one. That said, this router was upgraded from an older Merlin version, that was working perfectly (this is where the log would be handy).

I have tried rebuilding the NVRAM with the procedure:

** Power off the router
** Hold the WPS Button
** Power on the router and keep the WPS pressed for 10-15 seconds
** Reboot and wait 5 minutes

Settings were set to Factory Default, however, clients the original problem persists (clients do not populate client list).

Despite two attempts to upgrade to firmware 384.14.2 (link) the router continues to indicate 318.13. Any suggestions to enable firmware upgrade is appreciated.

I have the same issue on an AC87U after I`ve changed my dchp server to multiple subnets...so..check that
Initially I only had one subnet for the router and the devices behind and they were all visible, but once I`ve split them for a better management I only see the device in the router`s subnet.
The strange thing is that in the dhcp leases log all the devices are present.

I think it`s a limitation of the interface and it shows only devices in the same subnet.

It's a well known limitation of the Network Map that it only shows devices on the router's main subnet and with a hard-coded subnet mask of /24. But that's not the same issue described by the OP.
