I need some help with setting my setting for Smart Connect on my Asus RT-AC5300U. There is a severe lack of documentations on how these settings actually work.. Well, there isn't any at all.
What I'm trying to achieve is having Smart Connect on all three NIC's, the 2.4GHz, the 5.0GHz-1 and 5.0GHz-2 and what I'm trying to configure is to make it so that everything falls back to 2.4GHz when dropping below 76 dBm RSSI and for all 2x2 802.11ac 866mbps clients to use the 5.0GHz-1, and all 3x3 802.11ac 1300mbps clients to use the 5.0GHz-2.
My current settings looks like this;
I thought this would do the trick, but it clearly doesn't. All my 802.11ac clients, even those who can't go beyond 866mbps, and even those with lower PHY like 100mbps keeps sticking to the 5.0GHz-2. There is like 10 clients on 5.0GHz-2 and none on 5.0GHz-1.
What am I doing wrong here?
