I was running an OpenVPN server for my mobile devices, but for OpenVPN Connect and OpenVPN for Android consume massive amounts of battery on Android 10 (like 5% an hour or more). Never had the problem with Android 7, but what can you do?
I decided to try setting up an IPSec VPN to use Android's built-in VPN, and everything works fine. My only problem is that after about 3 hours I get " lease 10.10.10.2 by 'foo' went offline" in the server log and the phone is dead until I reconnect the VPN manually. Android is set for "always-on" VPN, and DPD is every ten seconds.
What am I messing up?
