I apologize for asking so many questions, but here's another one.:D

Is it possible to configure the OpenVPN server to connect a computer from the WAN, so it receives an IP from the LAN (192.168.1.x)? I want to include an external computer in my LAN.

Sure can! (but ya use the client mode not the server on the router :p)

Ive done Exactly that already....
My gameserver runs the Windows OpenVPN software which is running as a server and im using the OpenVPN client on the Asus Merlin firmware to connect to it.

Want me to help you set that kinda thing up?

Unfortunately, that remote computer can't be an OpenVPN server, 'cause it doesn't have a static IP. It connects to the Internet via its ISP, gets some random IP, and then is able to connect to my OpenVPN server, which has a known IP.

However, your configuration is still interesting. :) For learning purposes :D So, I suppose you create just another network segment (e.g. 10.x.y.z) with OpenVPN, and your router acts like a gate? You have to add some routes on the router :) to get it work I suppose?

It can actually....
Setup a Dynamic DNS Service on the Server such as DynDNS then on the client instead of an IP address you give a DNS name such as yourpc.dyndns.com
Bingo!
Never Say Never!

As far as my VPN client is concerned Its part of the local lan when connected to the VPN. I then have the choice of sending just LAN traffic over the vpn or sending Internet traffic as well, basically making the router a simple proxy...
