Hello,

My young teenagers have recently upgraded their phone to iOS14 which has private MAC address set by default. So, when they are at home and connect to the Asus Router wifi their MAC address is random.

I assume that the Asus parent controls are assigned based on the MAC address of the device connecting - therefore, does this mean I now have no controls in place?!?

I think it will only change once per SSID so they may now have 3 or more different MACs per device (original, private 2.4G ssid, private 5Ghz ssid, etc.). But yes, it’s getting harder to use the old tricks to filter and restrict and manage our own networks.

Thanks for this.

I was checking screentime use and identified porn sites as top 5 most used for my son, despite blocking the mac address. It would seem I should have blocked 2 other variants, thanks to iOS default setting.
