Is it ok that a RT-AC86U uses more and more RAM beginning with 50% after reset up to 95% after days?
It is set AP only with a USB-stick used as download master (but there is no traffic up and down).
Had it with 384.4_2 and now still with 354.5_a2.
You probably have an autofill function in your browser that's incorrectly filling one of the fields on the Advanced page. Disable your autofill.
Well I was able to downgrade my firmware but it took some time Googling on how to do so. I first came across this method for using SSH and SCP. I uploaded mtd-write and the firmware I wanted then typed in Putty: mtd-write2 firmware.trx linux
Then powered off and NVRAM reset.
Could you explain it please?Yep..
It’s normal: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asuswrt-merlin-380-58-is-now-available.31184/page-8#post-247652As well I can see most of the time:
Apr 8 21:25:25 kernel: nvram: consolidating space!
Never seen this log on 86U with log-level notice and show more urgent than debug, think that are the default-values.
Hm, today I noticed that "Client will use VPN to access" was somehow set to "Internet only".Still can’t reach the router or or the internet when using OpenVPN on my AC86U with Alpha 2 (384.4 was the last one that was OK for me).
Same and its normalAs well I can see most of the time:

Am I the only one that gets wonky results with fq_codel? My upload just goes absolutely nutty with spikes on dslreports?
Anyone else that has fq_codel set up under adaptive do you mind checking the following after running their speed test.
1) click on results + share
2) scroll down and on the section that has idle, download and upload click on the gold box that has upload and screen shot that please.
Thank you
I had the same issues I'm having now then too. My bufferbloat spikes like crazy on the upload spectrum only.Read some posts back, as I mentioned I had problems with QoS. It cut the speed in half and Bufferbloat was insane. Went back to 384.4_2 and all is well again.

Manual - automatic does nothing for me as I'm trying to remedy bufferbloat in the first place. Wish we had a simple option for percentage adjustment that would constantly adjust for say 70% to better account for variable top end speeds. Are you using manual as well? Or Automatic?
