I recently found out that my ISP have enabled IPv6. I want to use IPv6 so that I don't have to mess around with DDNS for my OpenVPN server and SSH server. I've a Asus RT-68U router running RMerlin.

When I enable IPv6 for my network, all the devices get a global IP.

1. Do I make my network less secure by allowing all the devices exposed to the internet with a global IP?
2. Would my router's firewall be bypassed by all the connected devices?
3. I was able to ping a Raspberry Pi connected in my network from the internet. Do I have to run a check on all my devices to find out all the open ports?

TIA

1. I don't think so, the router has a firewall rule that blocks all incoming traffic
2. No, all the traffic goes through your router
3. You will be able to ping, because ipv6 depends on icmp not being blocked, but the ports will not be accessible from the internet.

you can google online ipv6 port scan if you want to check.

I use ipv6 on my local network, with Merlin on an RT-AC1900P, which is the same as the 68U.
