New Around Here
Hello everyone. I was linked to this site from someone in the netgear community forum in hopes that somebody may the the technical knowledge to help me configure my 2 netgear devices to work better. Recently purchased a new 72in. 4K smart TV, since my cell phone and my PC are the only things on our 5G network so I figured I'd update that since the TV was on the 5G also.

Before I begin I'll state that ALL devices in my house have the most updated FW/SW updates according to manufacturers websites...and YES I re-set the router back to factory settings when installing new modem. AND CALLING THE 90DAY SUPPORT LINE FOR THE MODEM WAS USELESS "SOUNDS LIKE A BAD MODEM, I'D JUST SEND IT BACK" WAS THEIR ANSWER!

Original set-up was Spectrum modem:(ARRIS DG1670A) paired with Netgear router: (R7000 Nighthawk)

New set-up: Netgear modem:(CM700) paired with Netgear router:(R7000 Nighthawk)

After installing new modem, getting it activated through spectrum, the PC wired into the router gets great speeds 250-275 mps, everything on our 2.4 network (blu-rays, tablets, 3DS, etc) all get the same speeds they always have so no issues there. My problem is now the 5G network where I used to get speeds of 150-175mps...now I'm only getting 50-60mps!? Nothing has been moved I'm still only 25ft away from the router through 1 wall on the same floor. ALSO: before I switched modems my ping used to be between 14-16.....now it's between 30-36 ??????

Is there some network setting I'm missing? a handshake problem between the two devices? I'm not a noob and have been up and down the internet trying solve this before actually having to ask for help but thats where I'm at....anyones thoughts?
