New Around Here
Hi,

Noticed following problem.

Changed to Firmware version: 380.66_2

Changing Web interface from HTTP to HTTPS web interface can not be reached anymore after this change.

Web interface not responding accessible anymore

ROUTER: RT-AC87U
Firmware: 380.66_2 (16_May-2017)
Browser: 52.1.2 Firefox Extended Support Release ESR
OS: Windows 7

Steps taken:
Administration - System
Web interface
Authentication Method
Change from HTTP to HTTPS
Apply

Web interface not responding
https://192.168.1.1:8443 not responding
Tried with different browsers like Chrome same problem.
Browser hangs

Factory default router only solution to get web interface back.

Hope this could be resolved.

Thank you

Today I first changed my router login to https only.
Received error from Firefox when logging in to 192.168.1.1:
"Settings have been updated. Web page will now refresh.
Changes have been made to the IP address or port number. You will now be disconnected from RT-AC68R.
To access the settings of RT-AC68R, reconnect to the wireless network and use the updated IP address and port number."
Thereafter, I searched to find which port number to append (I had not remembered 8443), finding and adding it, thus:
192.168.1.1: 8443
When I attempted to again log in to my router, the browser (Firefox, I think) complained about the certificate; I told it to accept or ignore the cert, or lack thereof. I logged in to the router successfully. Once.
It would not login on the next attempt until I used "https://192.168.1.1:8443".
"https://router.asus.com:8443", suggested by the router web page, does NOT work (for me).
In summary, perhaps adapting your login URL to accommodate the https changes & port will gain ready access for you. Best wishes.

router.asus.com will only work if you use your router as your LAN device's DNS.

Didn't mention what firmware version you upgraded from. No issues here with HTTPS.
