Never had this issue before, but cannot get the VPN client to start. With any configuration from TorGuard's online generator, I receive the blue X and not the checkmark. The log states:
Dec 13 06:51:17 rc_service: httpd 420:notify_rc restart_vpncall
Dec 13 06:51:23 vpnclient5: Get CA failed

So eveerytime it attempts to start the VPN, it almost immediately has a CA failed error.

Any thoughts?

What router? What firmware? Is this a new issue/router for you (and/or a new VPN provider)?

What steps have you already taken? Any hints inside the log? Can you upload it to Pastebin and link it here?

ASUS RT-AC5300. Stock firmware: 3.0.0.4.384_82072
New issue as been working with TorGuard for years. Suffering from slow speeds so started to work troubleshooting and lost the ability to connect. OpenVPN just goes to the blue X; I can get L2TP to work but not an option as it is unstable and fails the connection after 24 hrs.

Steps taken:
1. Restarted router multiple times
2. Ensured firmware was up-to-date
3. Attempted to generate .opvn files for almost all configurations via TorGuards Configuration Generator (along with discussing with their support for the better part of 36 hours)

Log hints are the ones I already posted.

Are you using the vpnmgr addon by any chance? Had an issue yesterday where it went haywire and needed to uninstall it, restore the vpn client screen to default and reboot the router. Then I setup everything again manually and it all worked fine from then on.

Nothing additional on the router at all, no addons, etc.

This is what the TorGuard configuration generator is pushing; all matching what they have setup on their end.

Hit restore to default in the VPN client screen, reboot and reload your config as a start.

Thanks for the advice. I went ahead prior to getting it and did a hard factory reset of the router. This fixed the issue and everything seems to be working. I'll look at the restore to default option so I can be ready next time...
