I tried ...
Disabling protected management frames (I had to switch to WPA2-personal and disable wifi agile multiband to do it) - didn't help
Upgrading YazFi to 4.4.5 dev - didn't help
Upgrading to Merlin 3004_388.9 - didn't help
Doing a factory reset - didn't help (!)
What finally did it was...
@bennor thank you for the kind advice. When I uninstalled YafFi, I did not remove the config files & scripts, so that is worth a try, as is upgrading to the dev version (I'm on 4.4.4, which is the latest AMTM offers). I have done most of the troubleshooting you suggest, and you are 100% correct...
I tried downgrading to 388.8_4 and still the same issue. Could it really be dnsmasq if the devices aren't even able to authenticate with wifi? They don't seem to get to the stage of making a DHCP request. Regardless, I'm gonna switch the important devices over to 2.4GHz for now, I guess.
I don't think I do, that option disappears when I manually set a control channel. If I look at Systemj Log -> Wireless Log, it says "DFS State: PRE-ISM Channel Availability Check (CAC)" (and then " In-Service Monitoring (ISM)") when I set a 160MHz channel width, or "Idle" when I set it to 80MHz...
I'm a big fan of all the work people in this forum have done, my network has been humming away for most of the past 5 years. But today I upgraded to the latest Merlin 3004.388.9 firmware update on my AX86U and things went south. When it came back up:
many of my devices (Amazon Echos, IP...
@ColinTaylor yes, turning off DoS protection does make the problems go away. And @dave14305 yes the counter for dropped packets was high for that rate limit rule in the SECURITY chain. Is there some way I can retain some level of DoS protection while easing up on the rate limits a little? I...
Ah ok, thank you. I didn't realize that was a separate thing. I see now where the port forwarding is occurring (I guess I only need it in one of the two places). So do you think the problem is the rate limit in the SECURITY chain? Or is there anything else in there that would cause connections...
Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with a firewall issue I'm having on my RT-AX86U (Merlin 3004.388.8_2). I am port forwarding http/s (80/443) and bittorrent (port 51413). When I enable the main router firewall, http/s doesn't work so well - I can access it from outside my network, but it...
Thank you for the info @Martinski . I didn't look at my dnsmasq.leases closely enough. I did not realize it was just a display bug. Thank you for contributing the fix, though!
Hi, so this came up in my other thread, but I wanted to start a new one since it's a separate issue and I like separation of concerns :) . I want to make it so that, for one of my guest networks, the 2.4GHz segment (.14 subnet) can talk to the 5GHz segment (.15 subnet) and vice-versa, without...
attached.
I did notice that missing comma and fixed it, but still no love.
I also just realized a problem with my setup, which is that on spider_garden, the 2.4GHz and 5Ghz subnets can't talk to each other. Not to get too off topic, but any suggestions on getting around that, apart from...
Hi, first time poster here. First, thank you to the creators of Merlin and YazFi - they work great for my needs. I have an RT-AX86U running Merlin 386.5_2 with YazFi 4.4.2, and I have 3 guest network SSIDs set up with YazFi, using 5 subnets (YazFi.conf attached). First there's spider_guest - for...
