Extender or AP for a 2 story house?

Lol, no snow where I live, but there has been lots of rain as of recently. Ok, wasn't meant to say 'on', change that to 'in'. :p So yeah, it seems I will get the AP after all, there has been several people that have recommended that to me. Thanks a lot for your answers, I appreciate it!

Extender or AP for a 2 story house?

Hi everyone once more. I've noticed that on some points at my home, I get very weak WiFi signal. What should be a best buy? A WiFi Extender or an Access Point? I live on a 2 story building, so it's not a very big place, but still I want to know if an Extender is enough.

Any of these really helps with security or privacy?

I'm mainly thinking about remote access into my home network (I've been even studying about how to set up a home VPN server). Also, at my job place (related to IT), some people talk about this kind of stuff and I want to know what the fuss is about those kind of network services/features (as I...

How to make a homemade VPN

Interesting stuff! I've never heard about AlgoVPN, only OpenVPN. Will check its features and see its advantages/disadvantages. I will also check all the options of my router and see if it has any of those implementations (PPTP, TAP or TUN)

How to make a homemade VPN

Well, it helped more than you may think, lol Although I don't have any issues with any wife (i'm not even married, lol), I'm mostly interested in the third scenario, as I would have more concern when using public networks.

How to make a homemade VPN

How can I setup a homemade VPN? Are there any good and detailed tutorials about this? Also, would a Core i3 2120 with 4GB RAM system and a TP-Link home router be enough to mount a VPN server? And what would be the benefits for security and privacy? (specially comparing to paid commercial VPN...

Any of these really helps with security or privacy?

As said on a previous post of mine, I'm still beginning in the world of networking, so I got some doubts about the highs and lows and technical features of some services that are supposed to help with privacy and/or security. To be honest I got many questions, I hope I won't be much of a hassle...

Can a Switch or Hub be connected directly to the Internet?

Thanks for the answers! I'm trying to learn how to setup some types of Network, I currently don't physically have neither a Switch or Hub, I only use a TP-Link Router connected through the WAN port to a basic cable Modem (with no Routing capabilites as far as I know), a couple of computers...

Can a Switch or Hub be connected directly to the Internet?

Hi everyone. I'm more or less a beginner at installing networks, so I got a few questions (and perhaps misunderstandings here and there). I understand that a Router is a device that can connect multiple networks between them, so I find no problem understanding how it can make the nodes from...
