I have the Omada controller OC200, TP-Link ER7206 router, 1 TP-Link TL-SG2016P Switch, and 1 TP-Link TL-SG2008P switch.
Just trying to figure out the AP part.
Ok the 3 Computers are wired, 8 cams wired and a music server. On the wireless side I have 4 ip cams,6 phones, 8 Ipads, 6 tvs on wireless, 7 Alexas, and a few other IOT devices.
I have the TP-Link TL-SG2016P Switch with 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports .
I have a lot of clients for 2.4GHz.
So should I downgrade on the APs.
I have a 500mg connection and can upgrade to 1gig later on.
@Tech9 Thanks for the help. I ordered the TP ER7206 router and one AP last night. I am going to order a controller, switch and the rest of the APs if the router works out. Thanks again.
The Asus Asus RT-AC86U could handle it but I had to replace 3 of them not to mention other brands to. I have not found a home router that would last over 2 yrs.
Is the Omada a good Router that will hold up?
My home router is a Asus RT-AC86U with problems ....the client list is never accurate the 2.4 wifi is out. I have tried Linksys, Netgear and others all have different problems. after a year or 2. I was thinking all the traffic to router was overworking it. Omada is not that expensive considering...
Can the TP ER7206 router handle 50 devices - 10 ip cams on blue Iris, 4 streaming devices, laptops, desktops, Ipads, music server, 5 smart phones, and several other IOT devices ?
#1 On the TL-SG2210MP switch can the PoE+ be turned off?
#2 I want to try out the ER7206 router before purchasing router and switches.
#3 I have a 500 mb internet connection can the ER7206 handle that ok?
I plan on getting the TP link APs ....... just want to test this router before buying the TPLink APs. I have not purchased the ER7206 router yet .... just want advice before purchase.
The client list for the RT-AC86U is never accurate and hard to add some devices or lookup the correct IP for a device .
Thinking of getting a TP-Link ER7206 router with 4 TP - EAP615
APs . Not sure if Omada products is the way to go.
Thanks to everyone for all the great advice . I am thinking of trying one of the Ubiquiti Routers . Like the Idea of separate Vlans . Time to get on the internet and learn about Ubiquiti .
