    ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 v3.0.0.4.386_45934 (11/10/2021)

I've installed 3.0.0.4.386.45934, but I still am unable to check for updates in the UI, and the UI always says "DISCONNECTED" still. Also, the red LED is always active, even though I definitely have an internet connection, and can see the WAN IP when I SSH into the router and run ifconfig. So I...

    ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 v3.0.0.4.386_45934 (11/10/2021)

P.S., I don't know how the OP was able to check for firmware updates from the Web UI. Ever since I upgraded to 3.0.0.4.386.45898, I get the following any time I check for updates.

    ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 v3.0.0.4.386_45934 (11/10/2021)

This update needs to be done manually, if you were in the unfortunate group of people who installed 3.0.0.4.386.45898. It's pretty frustrating to learn that, not only did 3.0.0.4.386.45898 cause direct updates and ISP detection to break, but it has also been running with all those...

    Release ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 3.0.0.4.386.45898 (2021/10/06)

It looks like a new version was posted recently: I'll update soon and post any issues in the thread specific to that version.

    Release ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 3.0.0.4.386.45898 (2021/10/06)

Interesting. I haven't had these issues, at least I don't think I have. I rarely use IG; I have strong sentiments about all things "Meta," but those belong in another forum. ;) Streaming video from major providers (Disney+, Netflix, HBOMax) does briefly lose fidelity sometimes, but you never...

    Release ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 3.0.0.4.386.45898 (2021/10/06)

I have been manually checking for a new firmware update here. In the past year, they have been on a ~2-12 week cadence. I suspect they have a plan for the fix, but are working on communications to their less technical customers (similar to this). The next update will definitely require manually...

    Release ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 3.0.0.4.386.45898 (2021/10/06)

The device claims to be "Disconnected" from the internet (which is false, I'm connected to it right now). More seriously, it won't properly perform a check for a new firmware version. This firmware appears to have completely broken checks for future firmware updates. I see a thread on Reddit...

Release New firmware for GT-AX11000 (21/05/2021)

Yep, I sure do have problems with 3.0.0.4.386_43129-g60defb2 on GT-AX11000. See here - Anyone else having issues when trying to use an internal DNS forwarder? Also, how do I find what the previous release was? I've never downgraded firmware on an Asus router, but this issue is untenable. Thanks!

[ROG RAPTURE GT-AX11000] Experiences & Discussion

I know there are good reasons for both of these, and in fact my son plays Fortnite and I have a feeling it will require this ability. I have a PS4 and a Switch, but I only have static rules setup for the PS4. The Switch has none, and I don't even think I gave it a DHCP reservation (but I will)...

Check first if the dropouts are due to the system crashing and rebooting. In the logs, immediately following a dropout, you would see normal iptables behavior, and then suddenly the date resets to the factory default date and boot sequence begins (30-60 seconds later, the date will be correct...

[ROG RAPTURE GT-AX11000] Experiences & Discussion

I have a temporary workaround for the UPnP issue. I'm running this every minute and logging the output to a file: #!/bin/bash date ssh -i <KEY_FILE> admin@<ROUTER_IP> "/usr/sbin/iptables -F VUPNP -t nat ; /usr/sbin/iptables -L VUPNP -n -t nat" exit (For those not familiar, the above code...

Not I, but nothing I am reading on this thread is surprising me anymore, and I'm sorry you're out $450.

[ROG RAPTURE GT-AX11000] Experiences & Discussion

Actually, scratch that. Even after setting upnp_enable=0 and wan1_upnp_enable=0 (with nvram commit after), again I am seeing UPNP rules being set: admin@GT-AX11000:/tmp/home/root# iptables -L -n -t nat ... Chain VUPNP (1 references) target prot opt source destination...

[ROG RAPTURE GT-AX11000] Experiences & Discussion

Update: I'm at nearly 20 days of uptime and counting. But today I discovered a new flaw in this silly device. I think it's pretty ridiculous that this router has so many issues. I think I'll probably end up going with UniFi eventually. Anyway, here goes: The UPnP settings appear to be...

[ROG RAPTURE GT-AX11000] Experiences & Discussion

There is one setting in particular that I'm interested in re-enabling. I don't have any WiFi 6 devices, though, but this article doesn't specifically mention it: https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1042471/ The part about faster switching between APs is ... interesting. So is this strictly for...
