    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.33SF-HW & v. 9.2.5.1.34SF-HW

I have an RBR50 and one satellite RBS50. If I install Voxel's FW on the router, how do I handle the satellite? I have used Voxel's FW in the bast but only of single router networks.

Strange IPv6 address as main DNS connected to my Orbi

Hi, I have IPv6 enabled on my Orbi system. I ran an app that tells me what my current DNS servers are. This is what I get: Primary DNS: fe80::a204:60ff:fe1e:2e5a Secondary DNS: 10.0,0.1 What is that primary address? The secondary I know since that the Orbi's internal IP. The reason I ask...

Syncing computer with Insync stalles my Netgear Orbi RBK50/RBS50 based network.

Hi, I was going to sync my whole Google Drive to a new laptop using Insync. After the sync starts and runs for a minute or so the whole network slows down and then halts. In the router logs I see this: "[DoS Attack: ARP Attack] from source: 10.0.0.4, Monday, December 09, 2019 16:33:05"...

Question about IP's used in a network.

I got the tongue in cheek aspect of it :) But it made start thinking about what a small network actually is. Your description seem very reasonable. Anyway, without this forum I would have struggled much more building my small home network that friends and family are enjoying and has led to...

Question about IP's used in a network.

Is "small" defined anywhere? My company has 20 and my home network has 7 users. I would assume they are both small? :)

Question about IP's used in a network.

That's a great idea. Just reorganized my network keeping fixed IPs below 10.0.0.100 and set DHCP above up to 200.

Question about IP's used in a network.

Now that was embarrassing! :) Of course I meant IP's! I have corrected my post. Thank you for your answer and pointing out how totally off I ended up being. Come to think of it, I would like to know if neighboring ports interfere with each other :)

Question about IP's used in a network.

Hi, This is probably a pretty silly question for those in the know, but here goes: Can IP's close to each other "interfere" with each other in any way? Let's say I have a network where the router's IP is 10.0.0.1 and I need to assign a IP to a device. Does it matter whether I use 10.0.0.2 or...

WiFi channels for a R7800 and the X4s extender running SmartConnect /Mesh

If I use channel 44 on the router there's a message showing in the extender's web-UI telling me to use channel 149-165 on the router for best performance. For me it seems more stable if I keep the router on channel 44 for 5 ghz. If I set the router to channel 149 the connection to the the...

WiFi channels for a R7800 and the X4s extender running SmartConnect /Mesh

Hi, I have set up my R7800 with a X4S extender in "Netgear Mesh" mode with Autoconnect and the extender on a fixed IP. It's been running great so I will keep this setup. I've been using channel 44 for 5 Ghz wifi when I ran the R7800 alone and had great 5 Ghz connections. However the X4S keeps...

    Mesh network with my R7800?

Got a Netgear EX7300 extender and set it up using SmartConnect but on a fixed IP. It works great so far. I get close to the same speed I got before on wi-fi, somewhere between 400 and 600 Mbps. That's more than good enough at that location in my house. I will keep this setup for a couple of...

    Mesh network with my R7800?

Very interesting, and I I do have coax available around the house. I will look into this option which seems novel and not very complicated. Thanks!

    Mesh network with my R7800?

Just ordered one. Time will tell. Currently my router runs for weeks without any problems whatsoever. The true measure of success will be to what extent I can set and forget the extender. I want to forget as much as possible! :)

    Mesh network with my R7800?

Thank you for the clarification. So it is marketing speak then? :) We have a Ubiquity system at work which was sold us as a "mesh" system. Then there's the Orbi. Also mesh. Would you say that myt r7800 with an extender running "Netgear Mesh" works the same way as Orbi? I am trying to...

    Mesh network with my R7800?

I think I will. As long as I can return the unit all I will waste is some time if it doesn't work well :)
