running ssh processes with sites like github times out when connected to a network through Asus AC68U

hello. I've tried running ssh processes with github for cloning and pulling and I seem to have issues with it timing out when connected to a network through my Asus AC68U. If I tether to my cell phone, it gets resolved but was hoping there's something trivial to toggle to fix this. Thanks.

lack of name resolution when using OpenVPN server

I'm having a similar situation and under usb application - network place share/ cloud disk, I set the following: enable share: on allow guest login: off max # of concurrent connections: 5 device name: ASUS work group: WORKGROUP samba protocol version: smbv1 + v2 simpler share naming: yes force...

how to share single computer/printer across both guest and wpa2-personal protected networks

awesome. thanks, Martineau. That's great to see that this is available as an option. I'll probably loop back to it if I see a pressing need for this since I can already sense that there will be hours spent on debugging as is usually the case when I introduce something new to my router...

how to share single computer/printer across both guest and wpa2-personal protected networks

I was wondering how I might be able to accomplish this. I'm mainly asking such that I can share a printer between both the guest and wpa2-personal protected networks, but figured I'd also describe it as a "computer" since the printer I'm connected has an IP address within the wpa2-protected...

after update to 384.3, can't connect to guest network if regular network SSID broadcast is disabled

thanks, Grisu. I just tried it and thought that it worked for a second before realizing that now my guest network SSIDs are not showing up on any of my devices regardless of how my regular network's SSID visibility settings are configured. :(

after update to 384.3, can't connect to guest network if regular network SSID broadcast is disabled

I have not, only due to my not having touched the configuration in 2+ years. Since I have entware set up, I believe there's a configuration backup method where I just backup all the hooks and restore them. It just took so long for me to get it set up the way I have it and it would be a very...

after update to 384.3, can't connect to guest network if regular network SSID broadcast is disabled

Hello. I had for at least two years been able to run a guest network whose SSID is broadcasted with a freeradius WPA2/Enterprise wireless network whose SSID is not broadcasted. I had just updated the firmware from 380.x to 384.3 today and found that my guest wifi network is no longer something...

use case in upgrading from rt-ac68u with 800 MHz to 1GHz

I currently have an RT-AC68U with a cpu at 800MHz and was wondering if anyone had upgraded theirs from one at 800MHz to one natively at 1GHz, without overclocking. If so, I was wondering what the use case would be for prompting such an upgrade. Even if you haven't made such a move, I'm curious...

    RADIUS / freeRADIUS

I kind of shelved this project and have been using wpa2 personal for my wireless needs with my Windows 10 workstations, but have found a bit of time to get back on this. I'm not sure what's meant by MS changing their MPPE key handling in relation to using the freeradius2 server on the Asus...

802.1x or other wired authentication available?

at this point, I think i'm going to go with setting up iptables for mac filtering for wired devices even though I understand that malicious guests will know about mac spoofing and get around that. My intended "audience" consists of tech-illiterate folks whom I don't want stumbling into...

802.1x or other wired authentication available?

oops! I really should have introduced a bit more context as to the reason why I was looking into this. Periodically, we have guests over and would prefer to plug-in rather than use the wifi and will take certain liberties of plugging in without thinking twice about it. My approach to security...

802.1x or other wired authentication available?

as the line of Asus routers with the Merlin firmware have repeatedly exceeded my expectations, I just thought I'd ask to see if these routers can manage authentication for clients connected by wire the same way clients are connected wirelessly. I stumbled upon this particular feature while...

Windows ntp sync issues on Asus TM-AC1900 with Merlin 380.58

I just wanted to report back on this as I've been laboring away but have yet to get any signs of improvement -- I had tried the following two solutions recently and probably some other ones in the interim: 1) set up a linux machine to be the ntp server which can reliably run "ntpdate -s...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.60 Beta is now available

thank you so much. This worked! I had a vague memory of having needed an intermediary step but didn't know what terms worked best. Also, thank you so much for your buttery smooth fork! And while the search engine may be friends of more capable folks, but it certainly isn't my friend. I think...
