Expand on RBK50 V1 or Move On?

Strange thing is, while D-Link's official Singapore website shows it, it is not available in any shops (online or not)

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.2.12SF-HW

I see, thanks Thank you, this still keeps the RBS20/RBS40 options open if I need it

Expand on RBK50 V1 or Move On?

Thanks, since I cannot get the Devolo products from the local market in Singapore here and you mentioned that you still got better speeds with the Orbi despite it being wireless, it seems I should get at least another RBS50 before deciding if I really need powerline. I got a strange feeling that...

Expand on RBK50 V1 or Move On?

So far the only PowerLine system I saw are from TP-Link, there's almost nothing else in Singapore's market I am afraid I was actually thinking about simply doing away with PowerLine and rely on setting up the mesh Wifi system "correctly" since my understanding is that the PowerLine adapters are...

Expand on RBK50 V1 or Move On?

For some reason it appears that my RBK50 V1 has not enough coverage to cover my house, or rather, there is more mobile device usage than when I bought the RBK50 V1 at 4 years ago. To be exact, I can still get Wifi at most parts of my house (previous single router solutions can't due to concrete...

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.2.12SF-HW

Thank you, in this case, can any Orbi component on stock firmware connect to my RBK50 V1 that is using Voxel firmware?

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.2.12SF-HW

Just want to pop in and say thanks for your firmware, pretty stable and gives me the option to rermain on the Orbi platform I am thinking of expanding my network from a RBK50 V1 and will like to know if this firmware is also for RBS20, RBS40 and RBS50V2

Orbi as DHCP Server for Wireless Devices + pfSense as DHCP Server for Wired Devices?

As mentioned in another thread, I will like to upgrade from an Asus AC66U to a Netgear Orbi to fully resolve Wifi deadspots. Almost everything is ready (e.g. possible locations for the satellite and the router, site survey to ensure feasibility) but there is one last challenge: Guest Network...

Mesh Mashup Redux - NETGEAR's Orbi Checks In

Seeing how my current setup is similar to what some posts here mentioned AND I cannot do Ethernet drops (family disapproved), it looks like I will be taking up the Orbi too. I just hope those Netgear issues I read about won't happen again to the Orbi

New AP: Another ASUS Router or Ubiquiti AP?

    1. I see. I mentioned VLAN as I want to use the Orbi as wireless APs to my pfSense machine. I understand that VLAN tagging is needed for guest network to work properly with pfSense. But, if the Orbi's guest network works too, I am ok without VLAN tagging. 2. Hmm, I hope they fix that soon...

New AP: Another ASUS Router or Ubiquiti AP?

Thanks! 1. I don't think I have 3x3 devices now but am hoping to be able to support them properly. Before that, what examples of such devices do you know of? 2. I heard about this too, but am concerned about this issue...

New AP: Another ASUS Router or Ubiquiti AP?

After some more reading, I think going ahead with a mesh Wifi solution makes more sense In particular I am going for the Netgear Orbi. But just a few questions: 1. By doing this I will be downgrading my 5Ghz from 1300Mbps to 833Mbps. Is this of any concern? 2. Will it be ok with a pfSense...

New AP: Another ASUS Router or Ubiquiti AP?

My AC66U does not have iw or iwconfig. I don't have any client that can do these commands too (unless getting my laptop to boot from Parted Magic USB may work?)

New AP: Another ASUS Router or Ubiquiti AP?

Thanks, looks like I also need to see how the transmit power will be like in my environment instead of just on paper... What commands are you using by the way? Can I run that on my AC66U first?

New AP: Another ASUS Router or Ubiquiti AP?

    Not sure how much does this matter, I did a quick comparison of transmit power: AC-66U: 18dBm (https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1000972/) AC-87U: 23dBa (http://www.kitguru.net/peripherals/routers/zardon/asus-rt-ac87u-4x4-bridge-mode-review/) EnGenius ECB1750: 15 dBm EnGenius EAP1750H: 15 dBm...
