Thanks both, I've gone with abandoning mesh wifi and will use a couple of low power access points. One thing I found is that I could step down the power to a tenth of maximum and still have good coverage inside. I'm guessing it can't be a bad thing.
Hi,
I have an ASUS RT-AX88U running the latest Merlin firmware with an ethernet connection to an ASUS AC2600 (Blue Cave) as an AIMESH node at the other end of the house.
My partner has health concerns and the main router is sitting right near her head. All of the necessary ethernet cabling...
@airgap I have a TP-Link AC1200.
I originally bought an ASUS PCE-AX3000 but despite all options being to the contrary it always came out of sleep with no network connection.
I'll try disconnecting the node again @L&LD
@"noah way" I don't know how to implement your your suggestion or why a...
I don't have control over the node's SSID. It's ASUS AiMesh and of course the purpose of a mesh network is that they all have the same SSID.
I have already disabled the ability to turn off the wifi card to save power.
When my PC just woke up it lost the internet and intermittently showed a...
Thank you both.
Here's what I've tried:
* resetting Windows network settings
* deleting the network profiles (which curiously do not get deleted when resetting network settings)
* reset the mesh node
No difference unfortunately.

Hi all,
Running Windows 10 updated to current with a TP-Link AC1200.
I have two Asus routers one acting as a node. The stronger signal is in the low 50s dba and the weaker one low 70s.
First, about half the time when I reboot or wake my PC reboot from sleep there is no network until I manually...
I can't recall perfectly though I believe the packet loss and latency increase was across all hops. I will try pinging the router next time.
The router is an ASUS AC2900, though when I bypass it and connect to the modem WiFi the result is sadly similar.

But I only ever start it in response to a problem I see with my remote connection to work or less responsive browsing. On restarting it runs fine typically for hours until I stop it.
The issue is that latency will increase and some packet loss will creep in, visible in a traceroute. Other PCs on the network don't experience the issue.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on that and I've repositioned to improve the signal as much as I can.
Meanwhile things just got weirder looking at a traceroute I'm running.
I'm not losing packets but latency working remotely is very poor. And at the same time on another windows PC (admittedly closer...
> Does this happen after the computer has been put into a powersave mode by windows?
It happens from a boot straight away or in minutes. Power saving is off (it's a gaming PC)
I do get the issue you refer to on my laptop (even since stopping power saving)
