    RT-AX86U phantom wired device?

Tried that, but it still persisted.

    RT-AX86U phantom wired device?

Thanks. It seems to be gone now, I think it was due to a SoftEther server running on one of my wired devices. However, it will still show when the device was disconnected and shut off. It took a reboot of the router to stop showing the device, even a refresh of the client list wouldn't do it...

    RT-AX86U phantom wired device?

When I tried a Google search, I didn't get something meaningful. I see some posts here about virtual adapters and randomized cell phone MACs but it doesn't seem to be the case here. I did search using the whole MAC address, I didn't know if it was a good idea to post the full MAC (here are...

    RT-AX86U phantom wired device?

I have Merilin 386.3_2 and my router shows (don't know when this started) a phantom wired device. I disconnected all the wires, including to the modem, disabled the VPN, and it still shows up. It has an IP: 172.31.72.174 (my network is based on 192.168.x.x). Checking the IP with IP lookup tools...

    Solid Upgrade for Netgear Router?

Thanks, I did get the RT-AX86U (I was able to find it at a local Best Buy in stock last weekend) and I loaded Merlin as well. Very pleased so far and impressed with the software. Everything works smoothly and I experience less latency in browsing and apps. The only thing that baffles me with...

ASUS limit on manually assigned IPs

Cool, thanks, but still doesn't explain the artificial limit.

ASUS limit on manually assigned IPs

After a process of elimination for other brands and models, and reading good things about RT-AX86U, I got one. So far so good, setup was as expected and the software is better than my old Netgear WNDR4500 and the current TP-Link software. Everything looks reasonable except the limit on manually...

    Solid Upgrade for Netgear Router?

I am looking to upgrade my Netgear WNDR4500v1 (9 years of service; top of the line then). It turned out to be pretty decent except for firmware corruption about once a year that requires manual upload through Ethernet. EDIT: Making it simpler, looking for: Solid 2.4Ghz performance (crowded...
