I just purchased a zenwifi XT8. I have it connected to an ac86u with Merlin firmware as an ai mesh node. It is ok to leave the Merlin fm on the ac86u or should I switch it to stock firmware?

I have an ac86u with version 386.3.2 set up as an access point. Wired connection to my att gateway. The Honeywell t9 shows as connected in the gateway device list but not in the asus device list. Any ideas why it’s not in the asus list?

Ac86u with Merlin firmware 386.1.2. Under ai protection all are on but no incidents are shown. Is the ai protection broken in the Merlin firmware? My att gateway security protection shows ip addresses trying to be accessed by the ASUS router.

Is anyone else seeing WiFi speedtest results reduced by 1/2? I used to see 200 plus down and up. Now below 100? Switched to my att gateway WiFi and I get 200 plus. Ac86u main, ac1900p in aimesh mode. Edit this appears to happen only when I’m connected through the ac1900p (ac68u).

After getting up this morning, all appears to be working. CPU activity looks strange. It will peak and drop, peak and drop. I’ll look at it again when I’m home and can log in to the router page.I have not updated my ac68u in aimesh node. I’ll do that and read the change log later today as well.

Went from 384.19 to beta 5. Ac86u. Restarted the 86u by powering it off. WiFi works and wired internet works. But I cannot access the router webpage and the ASUS router app shows no wireless devices connected. Connected to an att gateway. From the first post it seems like I should factory reset...

I read that. Just confirming that was still correct. Considering the security issue was found after the thread was started.

For future reference. When the full Merlin 386 firmware is released, can I go from 384.19 to 386? Or would I need to download the ASUS 386 and then go to the Merlin version?

I currently have 384.19 on my routers. Is it still safe to go straight from 384.19 to the 386 beta4? Or would I be better off waiting for the release of 386 as non beta version?

Can the firmware pass att iptv signals without using the att gateway? I’m considering bypassing the att gateway.
