Any way to access minidlna over the Internet?

Well, I dunno. I normally use BubbleUPnP Server which has an option to make the collection accessible via the Internet, too. It's just that it runs from my desktop (while my collection is on a USB drive plugged into the router), and I wanted to access my music while I'm away (and my desktop is...

Any way to access minidlna over the Internet?

Hi folks, I wonder if it is possible to access the router's built-in MiniDLNA server over the Internet, and not just from within my LAN?

    Yes, I have checked that.

Win10 filesharing issues since FR the router

I have, as I mentioned elsewhere, changed my subset from 192.168.0.x to 192.168.1.x, which seems to have caused numerous issues, though.

Win10 filesharing issues since FR the router

No, I did not. And since the whole thing virtually collapsed, is there a way to reset whatever configs and caches there might be related to networking without reinstalling the OS(es)?

Doesn't seem to be the case

Win10 filesharing issues since FR the router

Well, there are no duplicate subnets, as had been suggested, I don't know what else to think.

Win10 filesharing issues since FR the router

Is there any factory setting in Asuswrt-Merlin that could possibly have messed up the file and printer sharing in my home network?

    Win10 file sharing woes

OK, this is back and is driving me nuts. To start with, the desktop is not visible on the network map. And to conclude with - it is no longer accessible. Again. The best I managed is make the laptop ask for user credentials, after which it's error 0x80070035 (network path not found) again.

    Win10 file sharing woes

Aha! It just occurred to me to try entering the IP address directly - and it worked! The old name doesn't, though. And neither is it visible on the network map. But the IP workaround is very much workable! Thanks for inspiring this one :)

    Win10 file sharing woes

Hi! I wonder if this is the place to get help with my issue (not the verbosity one). I have had trouble setting up file sharing on my home network (wireless laptop + wired desktop, both running Win10 v21H2, with RT-AC66U B1 Asusrt-Merlin v386.5_2 in between) in the past. It seemed to be a...

Trouble accessing USB HDD through SMB2 after a factory reset

Ok, renaming the disk ('device name' in router GUI) seems to have solved the access issue. Probably had something to do with the IP change (same network drive name, same credentials, different IP - might have upset some sort of network cache in Windows, I dunno). Thanks for your suggestions!

Trouble accessing USB HDD through SMB2 after a factory reset

I am using a single router/wifi, the aforementioned RT-AC66U B1 (so far as my home network is concerned - its WAN access is supplied by a PON terminal operating as a bridge). Just in case, what settings should I check to rule out the subnets theory? The thing is, prior to the reset everything...

Trouble accessing USB HDD through SMB2 after a factory reset

For my home network? No. I do have an OpenVPN configuration (for remote work) on the affected desktop, though, but this issue occurs when it is turned off, too (unless the virtual network adapters it added, TAP and Wintun, might somehow have an effect on my regular Ethernet one - I'm not really...

Trouble accessing USB HDD through SMB2 after a factory reset

Hi there! I wonder if you could help me out: Some time ago I performed a factory reset of my RT-AC66U B1 running Asuswrt-Merlin v386.5_2. I have since been been struggling with accessing an HDD I have connected to the said router. The issue is that it takes forever to access it in Windows...
