New router, Echos and TCL TV are the only devices that can't connect

It was at first, then I went down to WPA/WPA2, WPA2/WPA3, even WPA2 alone, the only time it connected was with an open network. Really really odd.

New router, Echos and TCL TV are the only devices that can't connect

So I upgraded last night from an AC86U to an AX86U. I flashed Merlin's firmware, did a hard reset, then started setting everything up manually. I chose a new IP range for the router (10.35.45.1), new SSID, new password, got my main devices set up with static IPs, the whole 9 yards. My only...

Easiest way to wire a house with multiple APs, with a need for streaming video through a VPN

I'd be doing internet only through FIOS. I work for a competing cable company so I'm able to stream every channel for free. The only thing I can't stream is my hockey team, hence the need for a good VPN. As for MOCA vs Ethernet drops, I definitely have no issue buying another pair of...

Easiest way to wire a house with multiple APs, with a need for streaming video through a VPN

This isn't a new build, it's a new purchase. If it was a new build, I'd have every room wired with 6e and a central switch in the basement. ;) Current owner has Comcast coax, I'll be switching to Fios (fiber). I'm more worried about a residential router + APs, vs a PFSense box + APs...

Easiest way to wire a house with multiple APs, with a need for streaming video through a VPN

So I'm in the market for a new house, and I'm trying to see what the easiest way to make everything work would be. I don't currently know anything about OPNSense, PFSense, etc, and I'd like this to be as easy as possible. Currently I have a gigabit connection, an Asus AC86U, a pair of MOCA...

Switches suddenly disconnecting from the network

Colin, pardon my ignorance, but could you point me in the right direction to disable logging the dropped packets? Also, the Mac's wifi is, and has been, off. Everything else that's wired has the wifi disabled as well.

Switches suddenly disconnecting from the network

This is what I get from the log: Nothing special that I can see. The Mac Mini gets the IP address I assigned to it. But when I log into the Mac, it has no connection. Neither switch has a connection. I actually swapped the switches to see if only one of them was cutting out, but it's both...

Switches suddenly disconnecting from the network

Excellent question! I didn't even think to look. Right now it only goes back a few hours, so I'm hooking everything up to get a log output for you guys.

Switches suddenly disconnecting from the network

I tried disconnecting everything except the switch and one device (either the mac mini or the desktop PC), using a known good cable. It still disconnected.

Switches suddenly disconnecting from the network

    I have, nothing changed

Switches suddenly disconnecting from the network

I have an AC86U that has been running perfectly fine for 2 years now. I have an 8 port switch upstairs (Netgear GS108) directly connected to the router, with a few devices attached. I also have a pair of MOCA adapters, leading to downstairs, with another 8 port switch (TP Link TL-SG108)...

    Asus AC-RT68U needs replacing

I'm leaning towards that as well. I was going to keep the 68U in router mode, then the Orbis as APs (they can mesh like this), but I have a friend taking the Orbis off my hand for the $75 I paid. I'm probably going to redo everything when I buy the house, and do a full bore Omada/Unifi system...

    Asus AC-RT68U needs replacing

Edit: nevermind. Can't do a VPN on Orbi system. Well, damn. The OpenVPN connection to NordVPN is a must have. ----------------------------------------- To add to this, I was able to snag a Netgear Orbi RBK50 2 pack for $75 on clearance from Walmart. So I guess I'm trying this first.

    Asus AC-RT68U needs replacing

OK, so here's my situation, maybe I can get some advice. The problem, first and foremost: Out phones (2 iphone XS, 1 Samsung S10e) and iPads have stopped connecting to the wifi. unless we reboot the router. This is an issue. In fact, this is the ONLY issue we're having. Before this, the...

AC68U to AC86U for simple VPN streaming?

So here's my issue, maybe you guys can lend your expertise: I'm currently streaming my TV service, mostly through the respective apps on an AppleTV. HBO, Showtime, Netflix, NBC, etc, etc. Unfortunately, to stream my local hockey team, I had to purchase a subscription through NHL.tv and then...
