Netgear Orbi - UNII4 extension and 160MHz channels

You'll be seeing more use of UNII-4. See this PR from filter-maker Akoustis. These will be going into cable gateways here in the US https://ir.akoustis.com/news-events/press-releases/detail/312/akoustis-enables-new-line-of-wi-fi-6e-gateway-products-for

News Linksys Starts Shipping 6E Mesh System, Announces $500 6E Router

Yes, they would be more, but not orders of magnitude. The newer filters are also a tiny fraction of the size. It would really help reduce the footprint on the board.

News Linksys Starts Shipping 6E Mesh System, Announces $500 6E Router

From the FCC filing, it appears that the Velop also skips the first 160MHz of UNII5

News Linksys Starts Shipping 6E Mesh System, Announces $500 6E Router

As in the Asus AXE11000 where the poor filtering leads to the loss of the first 80-160MHz of UNII5. Instead of dealing with it, manufacturers are just cutting out that portion of the new bandwidth. The DR/Cavity filters used in the spectrum below are not very "steep skirted", meaning they trail...

News Linksys Starts Shipping 6E Mesh System, Announces $500 6E Router

Curious if they waste the first 160MHz of bandwidth in the 6GHz area. I am sure your tests will let us know! :)

Why Did They Do This? Question on 6E Band filtering

I follow this RF filter company who is deep into WiFi 6E. They had a press release out today about a new contract with a Tier-1 OEM that is going to produce mesh systems using these new filters. Akoustis Announces Two New WiFi 6E XBAW Coexistence Filters with Enhanced 5 GHz Spectrum Use and...

    AT&T Arris BGW210-700 support 10GbE?

Depends on if you use the ports on the Arris or not. You could get a BGW-320 gateway which has 5Gbps ports and is WiFi 6 capable. Much better gateway.

    ASUS GT-AXE11000 5 vs. 6 GHz ... a preview

@thiggins Never mind on internal pics. The FCC pics are now available. As suspected, this router uses DR filters made by Xiamen Sunyear for the 6GHz band which are very large and cut off the first 80-160 MHz of UNII5. Shame. The newer models will have BAW filters that will allow full use of the...

    ASUS GT-AXE11000 5 vs. 6 GHz ... a preview

Are you sure those 6E channels are correct? If I am reading specs correctly, channels 85 and 213 are both 20 MHz wide. Are you being throttled by firmware problems? Also, I would be very curious if the router allows you to use channel 15 on 6E. This router came out before proper filters were...

    Wifi 6e - access points?

The parts, though they may be priced dearly to start due to scarcity, shouldn't be any more expensive than a current tri-band model. Three radios, and some number of FEMs and filters based on the extent of the MIMO inside. Same idea in the end. The attached pic shows the tri-band Eero Pro 6 with...

looking for a dependable router out of the box

The Amazon Eero 6 PRO fits the bill, if it comes back in stock. I have GB internet, and my wireless speeds often are 850 meg . I hooked two of them up in a mesh system and it just worked, I had four working adults here for weeks, up to 30 devices, and we all used a total of 750GB that month with...

News 5 GHz band gets more channels

Here is a good pic of the filtering issues in almost all current routers that makes them unsuitable for any "update" that might make them compatible with this new spectrum OR WiFi 6E(the heading should be 5.6, not 5.2). The filtering at the upper band is horrible. It allows bleeding into both...
